I have many theories I commented almost everywhere. 1. Amanda and monster Amanda are related but also separated. Like, we knew in the previous game she could transform. But here, it was like there are the same person but with different personalities. While Amanda was in the tv, her monster self was OUTSIDE. In the “When you’re feeling bad” Tape, When we have to invent a story (knight, princess, wizard etc..), and that Monster Amanda tried to attack us, Amanda pleaded it to not do this and let us try. When she was happy with the sad story and that Monster Amanda was about to attack us again, Amanda stopped it, convincing it to let us go. See my point ? 2. The Opposum is Jordan (Joanne’s brother). In the “Do you feel safe ?” Tape before I think the True Ending, when they all lunched at the screen, stuggling and wrestling to get the opossum away, it screamed : “Jo..Jo- JOH !!! Jo-..JOH- JOH-AHH !!” “Coincidentally”, Joanne’s name is with J.O.A. He was about to complete before the guys shut him up. Why would he randomly start screaming that if he didn’t know Joanne ? There’s no doubt of this. 3. I don’t think Wooly’s on our side. Because you can see that Amanda hates him more for some reason, he’s like keeping Amanda from truly “express” herself through the games and…well, We still don’t know his true identity. If he’s a trapped kid, what’s his real name or anything. In the treasure hunting, when Amanda founded the clothes inside the ground while digging, Wooly didn’t even say anything and immediately looked at Amanda and reburried it, trying to brush it off. Most of all, he didn’t even looked shocked ! And…if you look closely at the True Ending, it wasn’t Amanda who attacked Joanne. The monster was different, had some wool and a more animalistic ferocious head. Especially with that familiar ear raise. It was him. Who killed Joanne.

That one ending where the entity seems to be more like a sheep before killing Joanne and the fact the entity has seemed to have become separated from Amanda feels like Amanda was able to reject it, so the entity moved hosts, specifically to Wooly. Notice that during “When you’re feeling bad”, Wooly gets upset over you messing up the story, yeah? And then the entity shows displeasure over not getting to kill you after you tell the story Amanda wants. Now it might seem like it's just the entity upset that Amanda didn't let it kill us and that is true for the most part, but then why would Wooly be upset? He clearly cares for Amanda but he gets upset when the story is "wrong" which is what is making Amanda feel better. So I propose a bit of a Crack pot theory that could be completely, What if it part way through transferring OVER to Wooly, as Wooly gets upset if you tell the wrong story, the story that makes Amanda happy, the thing Stopping the entity from killing us. That would explain why it doesn't kill us over WOOLY being upset at us and only when AMANDA is as it is still, for the most part, bound to Amanda but it's influence is strong enough upon Wooly that his emotions change. Though it could be Wooly being overly good-natured to the point where he wants a happy everything, even in stories that could help someone that happen to have a sad ending. Point is I think the entity has had to take over Wooly due to Amanda being able to reject it by the end of the first game. Also to add onto it more, Wooly wants Amanda to play her part more the further in we get into the game, with in the first game it being the other way round from what I remember so I could be wrong there.

Well, I feel like the monster Amanda and monster Wooly are separate entities. If you give the Wooly doll to the amanda monster (Spoilers) the monster, after destroying the doll, hears another roar outside… possibly the Wooly monster… and in fear, the monster runs away.

@@thintleannexcorrect. I got lost when he mentioned that the entity moved hosts. But, in the grand scheme of things we can 100% conclude that wooly was and is indeed, the true villain this entire time. I saw it from the first game, of how he tried redirecting Amanda’s attitude and attention to the show rather than expressing how she truly felt or the “reality” of the backstory. But within those terms we can definitely see that wooly always (even in the first demo) tried to tell us viewers to destroy the tapes at all cost. In practical terms, he’s basically trying to protect the company in this way, as the viewer has already known too much about them.

Wooly is the true antagonist of this franchise. Notice how Amanda has an extreme disliking to wooly and going back to the first game, she tried to kill wooly during the "Uh Oh! Upon the third installment of the franchise, we see that we are being redirected into some sort of facility that I believe Kate was able to forge within the library. Obviously this has many variables that are attached to the storyline, but here’s a few key points. - The tape with the meetup sessions I remember in one of the tapes we see her and a small group of other people were having small meetup sessions that they could dissect with each other to try and configure their research within the tapes. Possibly could be the facility that they were in. Maybe the facility will have one of the people shown in the tape to have as our new associate, just like Joanna (R.I.P.) - The secret door to the Hameln facility This could be a MAJOR stretch. But what if Kate built that facility for the purpose of trying to make a secret gateway towards that “building” she referred to in the first game. I completely forgot as to which part in the game was mentioned about the “building” but at one point she questioned if the building was still intact and if it was safe to investigate inside. But I believe she may have been caught, and tried to get killed, henceforth she was driving as fast as she could in the cassette audio trying to drive faster from being chased, ultimately leading to her death. But if it really is the Hameln building, maybe then it will be the settings being taken place in the fourth installment. The facility I believe will have a majority of tapes stocked from being collected by Kate and her team. The player (Riley) will have to read among the tapes to figure out some riddles and puzzles (the typical game) we will be able to affirm new secret tapes (showcasing more backstory and answers to questions and furthermore questionable ideas for the final installment) eventually getting the key to the tunnel where it leads to the Hameln facility. But… while that happens, Wooly the monster could be able to break and make its way inside the facility, trying to find and kill the player. We will then have to find ways to try and escape the monster before enduring into the Hameln building. I believe the tunnel system is an entire maze, a giant final puzzle the player must be able to achieve WHILE the wooly monster is lurking amongst the tunnel system with you. You eventually find the way to the Hameln facility but… the monster eventually catches up, breaking havoc in the intact building. A poetic ending of the story. The company gets destroyed by its own creation…
