I agree Amandeuce. I fly LH First Class out of LAX (usually to ZRH since my sister lives in Zug) often and whilst I shake my head at their boarding process, I’ve trained myself not to rush to the gate from the lounge but leisurely stroll down and then board after the masses have so eagerly queued to get on board only to sit down again fir the next ten hours 😂. As you know, in First Class, we don’t have to fight for storage space so this keeps me in the lounge longer and my sanity/spirits in tact. All that said, yes LH really needs to visit the issue. 🤔 and I have NEVER had a bad experience with them. Their services are truly OUTSTANDING IMHO

I agree with the boarding process. The issue isn't the process its the people. MUC and FRA have a designated side of the "podium" for First/Business and the other side for economy. People don't read nor understand which side to stand on/near so they congregate in front. I fly Business and I'm always irradiated when someone gets to the machine and it doesn't let them in... because Economy hasn't been called up yet.

Should staff risk a loud discussion with eco passengers who do not want to accept the priority of premium customers? German newspapers/media are waiting for stuff like that to fill the headlines. So, there should be a direct and discrete way through the back door of the gate for First Class.

I agree with you! I just wanted to be onboard early for an empty first class cabin to take some good shots! If I'd be flying first class more I'd totally do the same you do ;) IMO they should board first and hon members first, then business class, then gold members and then the rest.

Good straightforward video. Interesting about how everyone's boarded together, I agree, that'd be an absolute pain. You should've tried the caviar...and taken up the offer of the bed being made up. The window blinds were a disappointment. The goose looked tasty though...

Amazing report Amandeuce! That sure is one chaos during boarding, nog very 5* if you ask me. In the air LH F looks great though :) so there is no second scheduled meal? Excellent review. Good crisp shots, nice comedy moments and nicely paced between take off, engine, meal, onboarding etc. Top work. Personally I think it at 20 to 25 mins would be my ideal but that is just me. Some people would want more engine shots, I would want more food and meal shots, others more IFE. Love the slippers retake :) In relation to the flight. The boarding is horrible, but their food is excellent when you get on board. I prefer the less cubicle style of Lufthansa and Air France La Premier over cubicles such as JAL from what I have seen. Don't the A340 engines looks so small compared to a twin body aircraft such as A350 and B777 ... such is progress. Shame .... Finally, you mention the slow climb rate. If you fly from LHR to the middle east with a westerly wind then you may find you will travel for 40 miles or so at between 5 and 6000 feet just to squeeze between Gatwick and one of the Heathrow holding patterns between 12 and 8k feet. It does give you a nice view of the SE of England and allows me to plane spot in Sevenoaks. Must cost them a lot fuel extra though.. such is overcrowded SE England.

I feel what you mean by not allowing first class not to board. I was coming back from MIA-MCI in delta first class. I get that my first class ticket was only 700.00 round trip but when I had a family of 5 people. All adults. None were children or needed special assistance, they were in the last boarding group. Do they probably on paid 300.00 MAX try to board before me I was PISSED. I thought what like I purchased first class so I can board first and get all the perks from Sky Priority. Its bullshit

Merry Christmas to you. It’s a very nice Flight Review. Normally LH does board HON, SEN, First and Business Pax first, although a sort of a barrier would be more efficient, like other airlines have. So this particular boarding process was really messy. I‘m just curious because normally you get a limousine service as a First Class Pax directly to your plane. But maybe you preferred to board via the bridge. Anyway, I really enjoyed watching your video. Added with a good sense of humor. ;-)

My solution for boarding is, in few cases I'm higher classes, this is mostly on long haul flights, I'm 5...10 min after boarding start at the gate. So usually less then 3 people are cueing on the priority entrance. In this cases you don't need to fight for the overhead bin. So no reason to hurry. When I fly economy, all my inner European flight, is last at the gate first at the plane. It works in ZRH and PRG. In AGP they force the boarding system and in TXL it don't works because of the set-up with the security control. On question what are the big difference in First between LX and LH?

Lufthansa fully deserves the Skytrax 5 Star rating. Weird that they don't get the boarding process sorted, I would have thought with all that famous German organisation...I was surprised and pleased they still operate the A340 -(600?), great plane and very very safe, but I thought they'd been replaced.
