Over the past few years I've been racing and upgrading my Yamaha R1 RN32 for the endurances that I've taken part in, from the Hockenheim 300 Miles, Valentino's Dijon 2-hours, and now preparing for FVP's 500 miles of Magny-Cours.
I wanted to provide a basic walk-through of the modifications I've made to make it more suitable for these endurance races, while keeping to my tighter amateur budget!

You need to change the intake for a carbon one from motoforza, headlight everything will fit to oem. It's removes de flap and is stronger then oem

So you’re running a stock ABS block still pugged in but no brake routed through the block, and it doesn’t throw a code?
@Nizar105_
@Nizar105_ 2 ай бұрын
It should not throw any code, since the system still detect the abs in place.

Seems kind crazy to spend the money on ZO4s pads, but not get something like the I2M Abs plug to completely remove the abs.. that's where my money would go, also a decat and proper system, there's plenty available that will control the noise and allow you to remove the heavy cat while gaining better, smoother power. Rearsets would be another, can remove the side stand after and the weight loss soon adds up. Race fairings too, seems nuts that you can run it without a belly pan to catch anything.

@@Focused_Veteran you’re points are all fair and valid, but there are different perspectives to it, but I can’t appreciate if you don’t agree with all my reasons. The removal of the ABS is just cost with minimal weight savings; it makes a lot of sense to do, but it’s not my highest priority budget wise, and the Z04 are necessary for endurance and performance. For the exhaust, nothing will be quieter than stock, and one of the main reasons is not to have to deal with aftermarket tunes and the cost associated; it might make sense when I need more power, but at the moment I don’t feel the need for it. I actually really like the original rear sets 😂 and actually have a spare set of the original ones in case of a crash. To each their own, but I’m a tall guy and they are positioned just right for me. Sidestand removal is one of those mods that never seems to outweigh the downsides for me. A lot of my friends have removed them and all I do is watch them struggle with carrying their rear stand around when they do anything; they ain’t gonna notice half kg of weight, yet they burden themselves with the pain. I would like a belly pan for sure!

@@GRIPWOLRD I get it bud, and trust me I know how expensive the rabbit hole can get with racing. I'd recommend SBS pads, I've used both in racing and endurance, Zo4 and the SBS sintered and dual carbons, there's no difference in wear or performance, you'll stop just as well and save a small fortune. I get the exhaust expensive, but honestly just from the ridability increase with a flash alone, it'll make you faster, safer, the fueling on the bike standard is pretty shocking, especially on initial throttle pick up coming out of a corner. With a flash you'll have that smooth transition from off to on, and be able to lean on the power and electronics to pull you out of a corner harder and faster. I guess that's the thing, especially with the big 1000cc, everything is expensive, but the same things really do add up.

running a non-flashed ecu is insane for any racer...the power curve nosedives after 11k rpm's.
