I think it could be quite interesting for the folks following this channel to know that Amazfit Pace does have storage (connect the watch to PC via USB to access it and copy MP3's) and plays music via BT earphones. Also, it can control music playback on the phone. I have Android phone and tablet, and on Android integration and features are all as advertised and/or expected.

That’s a great point, it’s a feature I didn’t highlight but it’s a feature that is important!

few minor corrections: 1) Adding custom watchfaces is no problem! 2) You can but should not take it for a swim. The water resistance classification is only IP67, that is resistant against temporary plunging. Amazfit Stratos has IP68 and can be used for swimming (has special apps forr tracking swimming exercises) 3) You can connect to a bluetooth HR belt (didn't check which ones would work) 4) HR monitoring has been enhanced significantly after last updates.

Question... and I assume you will only be able to answer this if you have your Pace on the latest firmware. Is it possible to set a WHITE background during an activity like a run? I've watched different videos by different people on different firmwares showing clear differences, but I can't tell whether that setting is available somewhere? A former Huami employee says that they think it is available (as it is on the Stratos and Stratos 3).
@inglescomivan4 жыл бұрын
Worth the price! The simplest garmin costs double. It's a pretty unfair comparison. Just sold an old forerunner by 150$ and got the amazfit and can't say it's a downgrade. Unfortunately there isn't an app to personalize training such as intervals, tempo run, etc...
@JonWMS8886 жыл бұрын
The PACE cannot be worn swimming. It is water RESISTANT NOT waterproof like the Stratos. As far as heartrate at the gym, it needs to be rather tight on your wrist but with the added movement of weight lifting can throw off the contact to your wrist. Stratos HR sensor sits proud of the housing and should offer more reliable results at the gym.
@Eckoolt6 жыл бұрын
Jonathan McCardell Stratos is not waterproof too. Its 50m WR and its doesn't mean you can go down 50 meters under water, its just a name :)

Again a Prima Video Waiting for the Stratos review Battery life VS Amazit Bip ?
@TechyAgent6 жыл бұрын
Battery life is less than the Bip IF you activate the all day heart rate readings and do about 30 minutes of GPS a day, but when you use it as just a watch, it can get over a week worth of battery life.
@Cred1Tor4 жыл бұрын
did you say it can't connect to an external heart rate monitor? i don't think that's true, i heard otherwise

Hello, Techy Agent! I like your videos. Can you help me pls? Whats will be better for gym, control sleep(i think it's very useful technologie) and running . I try choice between fitbit alta hr, polar 370 and Garmin Vivosmart HR+. With arguments(explain) please. Unfortunately, I hadn't experience with simillar devices:( And don't know where is cardio heart rate sensor is better. Thank you a lot! p.s: gps, design, waterproof are not important for me. Important: heart rate sensor, sleep and i think battery. You can offer and another model if you sure that it's will be better:)

This is a nice review thanks, subbed! Can I ask does the "pace" field randomly jump around while running? I am wondering if it averaged over a few seconds like a Garmin or not.
@TechyAgent6 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure what you mean by randomly jumping around, but the pace does seem to lag, so if I start or stop it will take it a couple of seconds to figure out what my actual pace is, but that is something that I have experienced on most of my Garmin watches too

Hi, great review. Do you have an estimate of when you will do the Amazfit Stratos review? I'm considering buying one but I have some doubts regarding the indoor training and fitness training, since the training modes are also limited
@TechyAgent6 жыл бұрын
I’m hoping to have mine arrive in 2 to 3 weeks and then I’ll begin my review and it will take me another 7 to 10 days to review it. So probably in 3 to 4 weeks I’ll have a video review. Sorry it take so long, but that’s the unfortunate nature of trying to get these products in!

Is it good for tracking a random aerobic workout? For example with the indoor running activated?
@TechyAgent6 жыл бұрын
It depends: If you are using any sort of resistance during the aerobic activity, it probably won’t do well. But if it’s just a matter of moving around without any sort of restriction, it should be OK

I'm a runner. I'm in between three devices: amazfit Bip, amazfit pace, and the Garmin vivosport. Out of the three, which would you recommend? I want something that can last in the long run because I can't buy a replacement.
@TechyAgent6 жыл бұрын
I think it’s probably worth it to go with the Amazfit Pace: I think it has the best build quality of the three you mentioned, and the gps tracking and hr sensor will be great for cardio/gps based exercise. My wife has the Amazfit Pace as her daily wearable and she loves it.

As always, honest review that I can rely on. Eagerly waiting on the Stratos review. I read online that Stratos can pair to an external HR sensor. It also has a barometer. Also, what about resting HR and all day tracking? Does it show all the data + activities on the mobile app? I'm also reading the xda forums where there are several mods to customize the firmware. (forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/amazfit).

I have the Stratos (English version) on the way from Hong Kong. It does store all day HR info, and I’ll do a full comparison once I actually get the Stratos.

Thanks for the great reviews! Any idea why optical HR sensors don't do well at the gym? I wonder if such sensors would properly record your heart rate if your heart rate would suddenly increase while at rest (e.g. when you are watching a movie or a game, if something scares you, makes you mad etc)
@TechyAgent6 жыл бұрын
Optical heart rate sensor‘s monitor blood flow through the tissue, and you get consistent blood flow when you were doing something like steady state cardio. But when you were lifting weights, you are clinching muscles and impeding blood flow, And that has an impact on its accuracy
@thcyprus6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! So then I guess that optical HR should work fine for detecting sudden hr changes while at rest?
@TechyAgent6 жыл бұрын
As long as you have the all day heart rate readings activated, yes it should be able to detect a sudden increase

Nice review Eric. I've seen a couple of postings online that say the Stratos does not pair with an external monitor either. It's like the Ticwatch. It will recognize the monitor as a BT device, but will not interact with it. So I'm thinking that the gym performance on that will suffer also.
@TechyAgent6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that would be disappointing. My hope is that it’s a cheaper device that competes with something like the Fenix series, although it will obviously lack a few features
@johnmanley45286 жыл бұрын
Techy Agent Hmm. Might be a bit ambitious to compare with the Fenix. My initial impression, not having used it, is that the Stratos is a bigger, nicer looking version of the Pace with just about the same internals. Look forward to seeing that review.
@TechyAgent6 жыл бұрын
Yes, definitely ambitious to compare with the Fenix. Although the international version of the Stratos is supposed to come with Strava compatibility native to the device. I’m not sure if it will have some sort of Strava application, but that would definitely make it a contender for those that do swimming, cycling, and jogging. But in terms of a true outdoor watch, the Fenix can’t be beat, and there’s no way that the Stratos will come close.
@AlexKolman6 жыл бұрын
Initially, Amazfit Watch app have not had its own sport tracking, so it exported each event to Strava, including HR, time, distance, pace, elevation, calories... As a matter a fact, I have the newest version of app (2.3.0), and it is still integrated and "posts" to Strava, but maybe that is a some residue software link from the initial software (before ver. 2.x). Interestingly, estimated kCal in app compared to those shown by Strava differ a lot, Amazfit Watch being very conservative. I have compared results obtained from Garmin Vivoactive 3 during various activities, and Amazfit Pace is quite in line with VA3. It estimates calories just a tad lower than VA3.
@johnmanley45286 жыл бұрын
Aleksandar Kolman Calorie count is a separate topic from what I am discussing. I’m discussing using an external HR monitor to record HR data.
