Normally I am against the captivity of animal species, but in the case of Jarang I think it is lucky that he was born in that place. In nature it is very possible that he could not survive with his condition.

For so long I honestly thought the only issue regarding Jarangs lack of movememt and climbing was because Jinga didnt hold him to her so he wasnt able to gain the core strength other baby Orangutans get from the way they are carried. I also felt she hadn't taught him to climb because most orangutan babies from what I have seen in videos tend to climb up mum first and Jarang didn't get that opportunity. I always said if I was wrong i would admit to it and I do think I was wrong. I do now believe there might be more to his issues than the hernia. I dont think it matters too much and he is happy living in his world with his reality. He will get to where he needs to be and I can see him and Rufus having a lovely friendship as they grow older. They are just too cute.

@@Ape_Appreciation whatever Jarang’s issues maybe, he is making progress and the team at Blackpool zoo together with experts across the field in primate care, are doing everything they can to help his development. I though Jingga doesn’t carry him on her side much, I have seen him practicing climbing on Jkngga, pulling up on her as they sit together. He is now crawling over to climbing aids around the enclosure and making great progress. He is a little fighter and is so sweet. Thanks for watching 🦧🧡

Some of these comments are so disgusting and ignorant. I've seen Jingga with Jarang at the zoo a couple of times. I saw him when he was only a couple of weeks old. He was premature and extremely tiny. Jingga didn't reject him, even though she clearly knew something was wrong. She is also a first-time mother. Jingga feeds her baby and looks after him the best she can. He's disabled and slow in development and learning and has a massive hernia. The zookeepers take great care in doing the best they can in very challenging circumstances. I've spoken to the zookeepers and some of the zoo staff, and they are clearly very upset and angry about the way Jingga and the zookeepers are being wrongly and horribly portrayed Jingga is doing the best she can with a disabled child. The zookeepers are trying to do the best they can, too.

There were two surgeries, but the last one was not as successful as they would have liked. Jaraang will need a third operation. Hopefully, he will gain more mobility. Jaraang is a fighter and he is doing much better than before his forst two operations.

It would be interesting to know if, since Rufus was born, Jingga is even more aware of Jarang’s issues. Also if Summer is aware and has ever reached out to Jingga. Of course we can see Jarang is starving to death and wasting away to nothing because she won’t let him nurse and the keepers don’t bother to feed him because they don’t care. 🙄
@petfan2948Ай бұрын
Jarang isn't starving to death at all. He was born premature and was very tiny. I saw him not long after he was born and I've seen him since. She always feeds Jarang. She adores her little boy. Many orangutan mothers would have rejected Jarang, but Jingga tries her best in very difficult circumstances. The zookeepers are very upset and angry that people say such stupid, ignorant things about them and about Jingga. Every time I've been there, the zoo keepers constantly watch Jingga and Jarang.

@@petfan2948 sarcasm my friend. I am one of the biggest defenders of Jingga and the zoo. Have been from the beginning. Mr Ape Tracker will attest to that.
