Yes, it happened again, another amazing coin spill. I somehow had the feeling, that it was going to happen and showed you the whole process while it unfolded. I reveal in this video some of my "secret tactics" and show you, how to track people from the past in order to find more coins.
I took the GC-1023 with me, because it was lighter than the Makro Racer I had at the previous hunt in the same forest. The Makro Racer found a silver medallion and 19 coins at one spot (unfortunately I didn't had the camera with me that day).
This time I broke the previous record (of this location) with over 40 coins. It was a great and "fluent" hunt. I had a lot of fun. It's always very exciting to find that many coins at one spot.
More info about the coins: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_...

Try to remember that in Germany and most of Europe there has almost always been a war of some kind or another and that means soldiers fighting in every ditch, path or hill and they run, jump and fall all over the place not to mention being blown to bits. They make camp and sleep where they can and usually have coins in their pockets that get lost when they do. In battle zones they lose much more and the scrap metal is everywhere in those same areas. The most important finds have already been found were usually on the surface by the locals. Remember that the Romans invaded Germany way back in BC. The deeper the treasures are usually mean older but! Not always. Cheap detectors work well for certain conditions. usually shallow and harder surfaces. Good Hunting.

I've noticed most of the items you find are in decent condition, the majority of 'old' coins I find are in a terrible state...copper in particular, I can only put it down to the type of foliage in the area, i.e., when the leaves fall they create a very acidic soil..notably pine trees are dominant in the area I metal detect..any thoughts?

What detector are you using? I like the analog meter. It would be great for me to use since I dig everything on some of my hunts.
@MetalDetecting24
@MetalDetecting24 7 жыл бұрын
It's a GC-1023. The meter may look interesting, but it just shows the db level (I think, I never looked at it). A smaller housing box without meter would be more useful. Cheers.

MetalDetecting24 I have to agree with the other commenter and also say that's a really neat detector. How much does something like that cost it can't be too expensive. I'm running a machine myself and old analog from Radio Shack. I tried digital machines I just don't like the way they feel when you use them or should I say I don't like the feel of the machine. I learned on an old micronta way back in the Radio Shack days and I've never really warmed up to digital machines period I can't hear what the coil is doing

Maybe the German soldier was firing behind a tree and was in an odd position that caused most of the coins to drop and then as he ran to another position, the remaining few coins fell out. He could also have rested at the tree and later lost the remaining few coins.

+Brett Abernethy Thank you. It's not that hard ;). The much harder part is to keep all videos short. I always believe that every scene is very important, in order to get a better feel of a particular hunt (or to be able to present a better look at the whole picture). Have a great day.

Why are you finding coins in a forest? Was this area something else before?
@MetalDetecting24
@MetalDetecting24 7 жыл бұрын
I think it was a forest before (for at least 150-200 years). People are loosing coins everywhere, on fields, pastures and in the woods. Sometimes they loose more coins at once (who knows why and how...).

I know that i'am commenting on an old video but these are my thoughts.. Someone went hungry after losing all of that, back in those times a Penney could still buy something. Do you know the history of the area what were people doing out in the woods back then. I know europeans walk a lot more than we do here, if you cain't drive to you just don't go. Thanks
@MetalDetecting24
@MetalDetecting24 8 жыл бұрын
+vern linkletter - Thank you for the comment. I wish I could go back in time and see how people lived back then. I'm sure they were much more active outside. If you enter a forest nowadays, you can be pretty sure that you are the only person there (unless it's a tourist area or a trail for joggers). I hope, this person was not depending on these coins... Have a nice day.

+MetalDetecting24 What is a forest today could have been a field or front yard back then. A gathering place. The topography and land use changes over the years.

Great videos, I have watched a few of your videos now and will sub after I type this lol. I borrowed a friends cheap metal detector and went out last week, it was not good at discriminating between iron and copper etc but it worked. I found an old english penny that day plus other odds and ends, horseshoe, ball bearings and a few things I have not got a clue of accept that I know they are iron. I purchased a tc 1023, same as this one you are using, just under £100.00, the price has went up but I thought it would still be a good choice for my first metal detector. On the very next day I discovered this one but with a 250 mm coil although the coil looks flimsy I think it is the same detector except bigger coil, yellow parts and a different arm rest. www.dmtrade.pl/p3598,wykrywacz-metali-z-dyskryminatorem-maclean-mce969.html# I may have been better to get this one with the bigger coil but I guess it's a bit late now. I also can't be sure the brain is the same as the 1023 plus the bigger coil may not mean better coil anyway and it does look like the coil could be damaged easily, what do you think? I could buy it and keep it for a backup, for a friend or (and ) my daughter to use or just sell the lesser of the two. Do you think it would be any better is the question I guess.

The subtitles are extremely blurry and difficult to read.
@MetalDetecting24
@MetalDetecting24 8 жыл бұрын
+Ctmrxmas Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I don't know what could cause this issue. The subtitles are not "hardcoded". They are delivered to you by Google from an uploaded text file, independent to the video (and the way it was rendered). I may be wrong, but as far as I know, I have no influence how the subtitles are being displayed in your browser. It is probably the way, you are seeing all subtitles on KZbin. Could you please try to click on another channel (the "CC" icon, if someone is speaking) and look if the same problem occurs? I uploaded a screenshot that shows, how I see the subtitles on my and other videos: goo.gl/gixbSs There is also a "settings" icon below with the "Subtitles/CC" option (take a look at the following screenshot: goo.gl/vnRnvO). Maybe you could try to change, or reset some values. Other than that I really don't know how to help you with this problem. Here is some more info from Google: support.google.com/youtube/answer/3029099?hl=en

Ryan Sharp you miss the point entirely, not every video has to have bells and whistles all over it, this is purity in a sense...to the vast majority of the viewers/subscribers this IS entertainment...the fact that as of 26.2.17 no one has agreed with your comment would emphasise my point..gl&hh
