Extrapolating from that information, the heart remains beating throughout the preparation, as shown in the video, which may allow the blood to be purged, but if the animal is prepared after being killed, the heart won't beat anymore. So this might actually be the only way to safely prepare pufferfish. Unlike the other Korean commenters that called people hypocrites though, this person agreed that it was inhumane and thought that it meant that pufferfish simply shouldn't be eaten at all.

복어를 산채로 썰지 않으면(즉, 죽어 있는 상태서 회를 친다면) 혈액순환이 멈춘 죽어 있는 복어의 피가 어디로 몰릴지 모르는데, 복어의 혈액에는 테트로도톡신이 있기 때문에 예측이 쉽게 산채로 회를 뜨는 것 안전이 최우선이므로 그리고 저런 과정이 없으면 안전하고 맛있는 요리는 나오지 않습니다^^
