This will be my first tablet with a built in screen. I can barely hold my excitement in. Waiting till Thursday will be torture haha. I'm not in an art field of profession but i absolutely love drawing and I find so much joy in doing it even if im not talented at it. Also the art shown in the video is superb.

How do you like it after using it for 10 or so months? :)
@Mr360DBZfan4 жыл бұрын
@@Vlasbomb its fantastic. Didn't get to use it much lately but its very responsive and the shortcut keys are very convenient for changing to different tools and layers since you can assign them in the settings to do different things. I primarily use SAI to just draw anime style characters tbh but you can get so detailed with this tablet and the right software. I do wish it was less cluttered with the wires though if I had to name a gripe I have with it. Definitely reccomend it especially since it was so cheap. Either this or an IPAD 7th gen with the apple pen is a very good starting point.

hey Boro, thank you so much for making these reviews. I'm a fellow artist who wants to upgrade their system without having to starve for the next 2 months (looking at you, wacom) these Asian developers definitely give a good alternative, but I need someone whom I trust to recommend them to me, otherwise they're not worth the risk. I trust your word more than any other artist Ive subscribed to one this site- you just feel more honest, your reviews are more thorough and bring up issues that might seem irrelevant to some but are hugely important to artists who work on these devices on daily basis. I found your review very helpful (as well as the other Huion reviews), and I definitely consider getting this device after seeing you praising it. Take care :)

Hi Boro! I actually have this drawing monitor, and it's pretty great for the price. The tracking isn't perfect and the calibration is really hit and miss, but it gets the job done. The one thing about it is that the pixel clock does seem to be a bit off on my particular monitor, which can cause some flickering in some cases. My quick fix for that was to simply overclock the refresh rate in my Nvidia control panel, and it handles 74hz perfectly fine and fixed the flickering!

I own one of these, and he is very correct about it being all you need. My mom made me a custom sleeve to protect the screen, and it fits perfectly in my backpack with my laptop. The slippery bottom can be a problem, but I found two good ways to fix it. One was to use a strip of grip textured padding. I don't know it's proper name but it comes in a roll and it looks like a grid of thin soft rubber foam bumps. The other solution is to put silicone grip stickers on the bottom of the display. There are some made to make lamps and other such items sit more stable on shelves. They look like little silicone bubbles. Those work well. I work at a toy store so I just cut of strips from a product called "Bendi Bricks" and stuck those on. The product is a Lego nib strip with adhesive on the back, and it is made of a somewhat gripy silicone. I enjoy this tablet both at home, and at work on very slow days.

I use a cloth placemat under my tablet, so the lack of a rubber edge wouldn't bother me. And my 14-month-old Huion is losing its surface. There's about a half-inch spot in the middle that has flaked off and I can see the usefulness of a protective screen.
@adrianpedraza86126 жыл бұрын

Can only agree, bought one when they were just released and haven't had any regrets so far! Got a huge mousemat below it and it doesn't slide as much :) The only thing I didn't like was the initial driver (went into some kind of sleep mode at random), but a beta driver they sent me worked better.
@adrianpedraza86126 жыл бұрын

@anotherd6 жыл бұрын
Still working properly though I still have a driver issue I think. Drawing itself is great but I tend to notice some sleep mode like behavior every ten minutes or so, even while drawing, contacted gaomon again and awaiting their response and solution... Also wonder if I'm the only one experiencing it, they basically use huion tech and drivers I believe.

I got this for Christmas. It's my first foray into pen displays. I've used passive stylus, and samsung's s-pen which I really enjoy using to draw. It was very jarring to experience this display given the distance between the pen tip and the interface, and the surprising offset of the cursor from the pen tip, specifically dependent on how you hold the pen. I'm frankly shocked that people call this pen display amazing and fantastic as I was expecting one-to-one contact like the s-pen (or the Apple pencil from what I hear). But I've since been reading comments saying that's typical of these displays. I know you say it doesn't affect your drawing, but I feel like it does a bit. I actively have to pay attention to where the cursor is rather than just put the pen onto the screen and draw, otherwise it'll be slightly off. I don't know if computer hardware would effect this, and I've tried calibrating in different ways, but ultimately you pretty much have to keep the pen at a 90 degree angle to the screen to get the most accurate response which is pretty annoying. I'm curious if tilt would help this, or if it would just effect the style of the line you are drawing.

I paid over $2000 for my cintiq 22hd many year ago and it still works perfectly. Its a big bulky heavy beast and i wish it was light weight and able to move around the house with ease. This gaomon looks great aside from having to charge the pen. How do they hold up over time? Do they last long? has Wacom even brought down there prices since they no longer own the market?

i think if you used this tablet without the manufacturer’s stand with that hella adjustable laptop stand you got would be the perfect combination. Additionally the manufacturer’s stand attached to the tablet would probably make the carrying case impractical to use as it looks like a thin envelope, perfect for the tablet and not dso much with the added stand. I can see that a user would probably not want to unscew the stand each time they want to take the device with them somewhere else

3 pronged Plugs are British Boro, 2 prong is basically everywhere else. Us Brits like to be different and confusing
@Sonicbolt4566 жыл бұрын
I think you mean we like things to be safer, the 3rd prong is ground/Earthing.
@loicjoly73356 жыл бұрын
If you think European plugs don't have ground/earthing, you are just totally mistaken. There are two kinds of plugs (in Europe as well as in Britain): With and without grounding. In Europe, the grounding is not a third prong, but can come in two forms: a hole or a nick on the side (just have a look at the photos on en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC_power_plugs_and_sockets). And as you can see, in this case, the third prong for the British plug is plastic 0:58, which is very good, since there is no connector on the other side of it (0:51). So, for this appliance, neither the European nor the British plug are grounded (which is probably fine, because grounding is not the only way to protect the used, for instance, the product might be doubly isolated). But if you feel safer thanks to a plastic prong, good for you :)

I got a cintiq 12wx that has served me pretty damn well for almost 8 years. I was planning on getting a cintiq 13hd to upgrade now that they lowered their price. But watching this review made me wonder if I should give it a try to this one since it has the same resolution of the 13hd, WAY more pen pressure and it costs like 200 USD less (plus, the Boro seal of approval, and your assessment of being better than the companion, which is basically the same as the 13hd). I had two VERY disappointing experiences with chinese tablets in the past when I tried to upgrade from my old cintiq (I tried the 20 something inches from Bosto and Huion), and that's kinda what makes me hesitant to go with Gaomon... Damn indecisiveness :P

currently have a Huion Kamvas GT-191, and if I switched to the Gaomon PD1560, would it be worth it? I noticed the pricing range and the details you've explained seemed to have gotten my full attention and I'm very interested. I've been having a problem with the coloration of my Huion tablet, and it does bother me that I have to look up to see if the colors are correct, and my workstation is too small to have the monitor infront of the computer screen, so I have to turn to the side and I have to use another table for the tablet. Huion is my first monitor tablet though, so I'm no expert.

And I have no idea why I was struggling a lot to find that full HD on 14", because my smartphone, which is 4", also has full HD, which means that it is entirely possible to have so much pixels, and yet 90% of 14" has worse resolution... there is a pretty substantial size difference there. so the more relevant question is, what size screen would you prefer to draw on? bigger is not always better. it depends mostly on how close you want to be from the screen whilst drawing. I'd prefer the 15 inch myself.

to be honest, Im kind of new to digital art and this will be my first tablet; but im certain I will make this a perfessional hobby. I just watched a crapton of vids and those were the two that I ended up with. I like size but, in relation to the gaomon I dont know if i really need that much more size. Im also curious of the capabilities of each when compared to eachother. Which one is better with preformance? However I also like portablility, but I love a big screen. What would you pick? they both seem really good but the huion is $400+. IDk how much better it is when it comes to preformance, I just know that it is really good and alot of people recomend it, however, alot of people say the same thing about this.

I do traditional right now and I am comfortable with a 9in x 12in sketch pad, but something like a large screen just looks so sexy to me

Omega Panda I tested them both and decided for the Gaomon. Don't get me wrong, the Huion is a really nice display, but I think the Gaomon is the better choice. Even if they were the same price I would still choose the Gaomon. Like Dante mentioned, the pixel density really shows so nice on the smaller tablet. I tested them the same time with the same picture (have two workstations next to each other) and the difference really shows. With the Gaomon everything looks so sharpe and clear and the colors are much better in my opion than with the Huion. I bought the Gaomon last November and use it almost every day, for 4 to 8 hours, sometimes longer. No flaws at all and I'm really glad I decided for that one.

Rubber bands would be a quick fix to grip the table top.
