I flew a Lufthansa A380 business class from Germany to the USA , it was the best flight of my life .. it seems like i was in my own bedroom, so quiet during the flight.. the landing and take off were the smoothest i ever seen .. simply an amazing plane .

I been on a Qantas A380. This aircraft is incredibly comfortable and quiet compared to B777 and B767 and all other planes, big or small. It is just magnificent.

Yep, I agree with you. I been on the Emirates one and it's the best experience so far. That aircraft, A380 is just magnificent. When it takes off and lands you don't feel a thing, as though the pilots are flying a feather and not a humongous craft.

The A380 was visible from the start....but I thought, "Where's the 737?" ...20 seconds later the tip of the tail appears! The camera angle gives the impression that the smaller jet won't lift off in time. Brilliant footage!

Separation was 2 miles, the length of the runway. My position and the compression of the camera being zoomed in, make them appear closer. there is no drama here , i just thought it was great footage.

I would say it was more than 2 miles, with the runway being 3050 meters, Norwegian was overhead past your location before Emirates touched down and I can't imagine you were inside the perimeter

The A380 wasn't 'hovering' at all and would still have been going at least 140 knots on short final. And no, that wasn't 'a little close' at all, with the required runway separation obviously being complied with by the controller.

If it had been the other way round, it might have been a little close for comfort. But then again, we're talking about planes on the ground, where the turbulence wakes don't play such an important role as they do in mid air.

Apparently there was some synergy between the 747 and the A380 aircraft and their respective pilots orchestrated by the control tower. It's an excellent timing and wonderful air traffic control experience. Though I was a bit nervous and scared about both planes clashing.

I do believe that wake turbulence only occurs after the aircraft has left the ground and when aircraft are behind and slightly below. So the danger really occurs on take off rather than landing.

Chris Sharp well if landing , touch down point should be before the take off point of the other plane. Wake turbulence is created even when the airplane is generating lift.
