Great video! The fish soup is served properly separated from fish. The stuffed zucchini should be served with egg -lemon thick sauce called avgo-lemono. I think you have a great metabolism....haha! Awesome presentation because you combine sightseeing + food 👍😋

the reason the parthenon is such a jigsaw puzzle is because in the middle ages while it was under ottoman rule, those geniuses stored their ammunition inside the parthenon, and the Venetians bombarded the parthenon during one of their clashes. So the acropolis became a Michael Bay movie.

Best part about visiting the Acropolis....the cats! 😃🐱👍🏻 Agreed! They are so sweet! ❤️🐱
@locavore_eats3 жыл бұрын
Honestly all the places we went to in Greece all the cats were so lovely!!! Our Airbnb in Santorini had a resident cat who pretty much stayed and slept with us the whole time!! And yes our visit to the Acropolis was definitely extended by the amount of times we stopped to pet the cats 😅😅
@catsofastypalea3 жыл бұрын
@@locavore_eats oh yes I saw your Santorini vid and that cat was cute and a fatty!😄🐱 We have lots of cats in Greece for sure!! I live in an Island 3 hrs away from Santorini and feed around 30 stray cats every day. Sweethearts they are! 😊❤️

Love how respectful you are of Greek culture, and your pronunciation of Greek words isn't bad either! Fun fact: "gyro" means "turn", referring to the meat rotating on a spit. It's the same root where we get "gyroscope" and "gyrate". I agree that Greek pita is fantastic, always well seasoned with salt, spices, and olive oil. Gyro and pita = absolutely elite food 🤌🤌🤌

Thank you so much 🥰🥰🥰 Wish we had more time to eat even more gyros in Athens 😆

Hey there, gyro is the shaved pork because it is cooked on a big skewer that constantly turns around (round -> gyro, e.g. gyroscope), you were trying to refer to the pita bread. What you had at "O Thanasis" was pita souvlaki (as they say in Greece) or pita kalamaki (as they say in Athens). Otherwise, excelent job at showing local homemade food a Greek person would usually eat and not just touristy food.

Thank you for correcting!! I think I kept on saying gyro throughout our visit and only realised afterwards 😆 But thank you so much for watching we had an amazing time eating all the delicious food in Athens!!

Dear friend come in Thessaloniki and Chalkidiki coast in northern Greece to eat. The tastes are better than these in Athens. In Athens they don't know anything about good food. Try and other places. For example in my opinion Kostas is not the only restaurant for Greek souvlaki. Try and another shops. Bye
