But she also studied food technology and later something like dietary studies and there's just no talking to her :( She knows better" because "she studied all that".. But she doesn't and all that remains is our own journey to health and weight loss. Perhaps at some point it'll open her eyes... I really hope so.

I only argue that long distance runners aren’t sacrificing muscle. The body is simply adapting metabolically and physiologically to what it’s asked to do and endure. It responds in turn by doing it in the most efficient and proficient way possible. Lean, thin and light is the only way to go for a long distance runner. What an amazing thing.

Excess proteins do not convert into sugar. Gluconeogenesis is demand driven, not supply driven. Lots of good info in this video but be careful not to accept everything everyone says just because they are Mark Sisson, Eric Berg or Shawn Baker. Retain critical judgement and realize everyone is human after all
@blackstatis03555 жыл бұрын
YouNolf i though he said that excess protein is shed, burned or stored as fat through gluconeogenesis processing into glucose first, because the body doesn’t store protein. Isn’t this the principle behind the carnivore diet?
@YouNolf5 жыл бұрын
@@blackstatis0355 what do you mean "principle behind carnivore diet"? I sincerely did not comprehend what you are saying. Anyway, I'd like to remind that "excess protein doesn't turn into chocolate cake", see ketogains on reddit
@blackstatis03555 жыл бұрын
YouNolf if you only eat meat, your body will break down the protein into glucose. You can sustain and thrive based on that principle. The body doesn’t store protein though right, it lightly stores glucose but then excess glucose as fat and it stores fat, so excess protein has to be shed or converted?
@YouNolf5 жыл бұрын
@@blackstatis0355 if you eat only lean meat you will die. Eating fatty meat you use ketones as body fuel, and some amino acids are converted to glucose as needed. You'd have to eat inhuman amounts of proteins for the body to convert them all to glucose. Again, Gluconeogenesis is demand driven, not supply driven

Mr. Sisson at some point recommends plant foods, but many « cavemen » probably had zero vegetables for 10 to 12 months out of the year. My forebears were Neanderthals, shown to be 95% carnivorous. Got Northern ancestry? Just eat good and fatty meat baby! As I got older (in my 50s), I found that eating grains and vegetables and fruit made me sick. Having one-third of a potato as a test after going full carnivore for 30 days gave me horrible symptoms of anxiety (woke me up in the middle of the night) and a skin-crawling feeling that was extremely unpleasant ! Bye-bye potatoes! It is eye-opening to research the anti-nutrients in plants. So I think we have to do our own personal experiments, and I believe our activity level and age may greatly influence the way we should eat.
@lilianmcleod70995 жыл бұрын
