Basically a Davy knot on one end with a unit knot on the other. I agree just use a double uni knot and avoid the click bait.

Love watching knot tying videos. I think the reason there is so many different knots is how people's brains process. I can tie many many different knots. But have terrible difficulty with knots that are supposed to be easy. People that are learning have to know that different line weights require different amount of twists. And different knots. I do not use the same knot on 300 lb test that I use on 4 lb test. Anyway love watching your videos great job

Looks a good knot and simple to tie. I use the double uni knot for all my line to leaders connection. Even heavy beach fishing I use 25 lb braid to 80 lb braid shock leader and never had a problem. More turns on the uni knot though, I recommend no less than 8

I’ve been tying my leaders like this for years it’s quick n easy to ties very strong and neat and I’ve never had one fail I suspect because the leader is normally 10/12 bs and the braid probably about 16lb so it’s hard to get a failure yes I wouldn’t use it for marlin but for chucking a big feeder and catching the odd carp it’s fine

Spider hitch into a surgeons knot. Doubles the braid at the knot and it's never failed me. Takes about 25 seconds when you get to know it.

Its tied the wrong way. Check elsewhere for the GT knot. Only works on lighter leaders. Otherwise the figure 8 gets too big and won't cinch. Learn the FG, SC or PR. Great!

It's not so slim... a figure 8 knot is thicker than an FG knot..! My FG knots have never failed me as I surf cast hard,.. but there's another method for braid to mono or fluorocarbon.... its hollow core braid ... and no knot is needed... if you don't super glue your FG knot, it will eventually unravel after so many hard casts and going back and forth through the guides.. that's where the hollow core braid reigns supreme... also, no knot to rip your thumb open on a conventional reel... this method is older than my grandmother and she farts dust... get the picture...? 🤙😎👍

Does not have 100%knot strength although easier to tie..the FG is a better knot..some say it’s difficult to tie and I say it just takes a little longer but stronger!..learn it and it’s not difficult at all !

That is 100% knot ,be sure to lubricate before you slide both halves together, the friction if you don't WILL damage the knot,also it's just a blood knot, ive been tying it for last 25 years,used in tournaments, never ever had it fail
