Plat Fishing just had these rods for 40% off. I bought the 63" length and caught a bunch of 16"+ and one 18" rainbow trout. I have fallen in love with this rod. The sensitivity on this rod is amazing fishing with your BG-1 jigheads. The feeling is just super crisp and sharp-you can feel every tap on the lure!

@@ifishcatfish I also have the Presso LTD AGS 61ML and love it too. It took me a while to get use to the handle because it incorporates the full carbon fiber material to it as well. I use that bad boy for all my JDM spoons for the majority of its application. I just love the AGS system of the carbon fiber guide frame with torziite inserts in them- the rod is cray light! The casting ability with all lines is second to none, especially on full nylon and fluorocarbon 2.5 - 4 lb. lines. Nevertheless, I normally use braid lines .6 - .8 PE Varivas Super Trout lines and then add flruo to it. Because of the parabolic action, it does wonders for barbless single hook action.It has the backbone to handle all sizes of trout from 8" - 22" browns, rainbows, and brookies, but still gives enough for that bite to hook'em in!

Great video as usual; Victor! The rod you used is GEKKABIJIN AIR 68L-T-W: red labeled bottom piece, Tubular tip, for Mebaru. There are other versions as well: if silver labeled bottom piece: They are for Ajin, solid tip. It appears these rod are 2023 version, Made in China? (W...) and they are not labeled as AGS, although guides are AGS, maybe partly AGS. Then there are version made in Japan: Daiwa GEKKABIJIN EX Air AGS 68L-T Q: red handle piece ( Q: the most expensive version. Made in Japan, labed to be used for both horse mackerel / Ajin and rockfish.); Daiwa GEKKABIJIN Air AGS Ajing 68L-T Y (Silver Labeled bottom piece, Made in Japan). Lastly non-air/AGS version: GEKKABIJIN AJING 68L-S (red bottom piece). I did not pay attention to. So confusing, but I just figured it out.. Probably ones Made in China are just as good as ones Made in Japan. But you prefer the latter. Buy the Y or Q version...

Love the content. And those are some wonderful catches. You were killin it this trip. And great job knowing your rod and reel. I ultralight fish myself, have always preferred this style of fishing for big and small fish and was born with an ultralight in my hand, I swear. I've always said to people you don't need a heavy rig to catch nice fish, you just need to be in the right place and learn to use Ultralight and enjoy the fun. I am not bragging, but I always outfish everyone because of my ultralight set ups. Always have fished that way and never knew otherwise until I got older. Especially smallmouth which I target on rivers. Plus, its just so much fun. BTW: I bought the Daiwa Presso UL because of you last year......and that is the best rod I have ever held in my hand. So thank you for reviewing that rod. Paired with a Daiwa Regal and my oh my. Thanks for representing all us ultralight people out there. Its just one fun set up and I come to your videos when I need to fish at my desk.

Also to add, mebaru aka rockfish in Japanese I have found fight somewhat similarly to fresh water black bass. More often than not you will find mebaru/rockfish in very heavy cover like rock jetties, reefs, and kelp. It translate great into light tackle bass fishing.

ooo yes, you were right :) I really liked today's video. nice specimen fish and very nice looking combo! I like how the rod bends under the pressure of the fish. as for the rod we talked about yesterday, it is made for offshore rockfishing. it is a little longer, has a slightly stronger backbone (like this daiwa), but it also bends nicely - it is not a stiff rod. sometimes I throw a 3 inch keitech, anything can hit the hook :)

Great timing for me victor as I was wanting to purchase a bass rod for wacky worm ….i used your beloved soare xr 7.6 today and it seemed to me to be perfect for 4 inch wacky worm…..the bend in top of rod seemed exactly right for raising senior up and down…. It handled 5 medium 2lb or less bass beautifully and sensitive to the slightest touch…..the rod in the video also looks to be an excellent choice for wacky worm also ….would you recommend it for that type of wacky bass fishing from lake shore? …many thanks
@ifishcatfish6 ай бұрын
Mmm ... i don't know... maybe if your wacky worm is weightless or only up to 2-3 grams of weight. I would use a more powerful rod than this for wacky worm. This rod... its Light power but it still extremely light and carbony and finessy and fragile. I wouldn't bring it with me on the bank.

Hello. which version is slower than Daiwa Presso Air Ml or L? And take a closer look at the budget Daiwa Iprimi fishing rods!!!! There is a version with four parts, it’s also the way you like it, with a slow tuning. (Although this is difficult to achieve from a four-piece!!!) Thank you!

Please rewrite your question. I don't understand what exactly you are asking. If you are asking about the bend curve of Presso AIR AGS, yes, the ML is parabolic, and the L is progressive (fast action). The L model of Presso AIR AGS has similar action to this rod right here

I bought my shimano expride out of japan and got it for a killer deal. I got the jdm model, being the 6"5 medium light regular fast action. Definitley better and more true to the action then the usdm models.

bass is great on days like this with hot action. But sometimes i go 100 casts without a bite and i keep thinking of all the bluegill i could have caught instead..
@12345B6 ай бұрын
@ifishcatfish so true, i also enjoy the opposite of catching cast after cast, it's a different mindset, the joy of bass fishing for me is the hunt, seeing a overhanging tree, skipping a frog back under it, or twitching a small popper on the edge of a reedline. Etc Panfishing can be like this sometimes, but I would say Panfishing is very therapeutic, relaxing, and peaceful in contrast. But this can go both ways, as well
