I know exactly what you mean. My guitar was always there for me when I was at my lowest. It's a friend that will never betray you or try to hurt you. From going through a divorce to losing my dad, my guitar was there to comfort me.

A true craftsman.... perhaps now his rewards for what he does will be commensurate with the quality of his work.

That's a song of mine called Snowflake: Michael Wohl - Snowflake [ORIGINAL] with Dubourg Guitar I recorded several others as well - all recorded with Ken's guitar, which is the exact same model that Hedges used..

Don’t think much of mike Dawes style of guitar playing, all I can hear is the slapping sound,I would like to hear a tradional musician playing it...

Dawes looks as though someone put his fingers in a rack and stretched them to the incredible length they are now. Dubourg Guitars sound fantastic. Mike put it through the test and man envy and awe filled my soul. Brilliant stuff.

This particular guitar belongs to me as I purchased it directly from Ken. Mine is number 3 of 4-number 1 being Hedges’ guitar. I allowed Wohl to take it to England for Dawes to play. Ken is still alive but did not make any under the marketing program that Wohl set up for him. I’m not sure if he’s made any, and if so, not in this same style. I do not know the whereabouts of 2 and 4. Due to the harmonics of 3, it is what Ken considered his best guitar. For those who balked at the $6,000 for the newer models, I now have mine included on my jewelry insurance rider.

Actually Vincent sold 2 for a total of about $200.00. And it is gut wrenching his work now sells for 60-100 million dollars. The Art World is an ugly place.

+Kashaku3 Not an uncommon price tag for a hand crafted acoustic. Very reasonable price tag given his artist roster. A "few" companies will triple the price tag if a famous musician plays them.

@@debracornwell1156 that's a real drag. It sounds to me like this is one of those builders who you kind of get what you get when you work with them... A kind of Fred Carlson type builder

so all the old growth mahogany wood in the world is cut down? No one thought to re-plant any at all? How much do these guitars go for? Why doesnt he just get a computer and advertise? That is the easy part. Does he make any acoustic electric ones to play gigs with?

I know Ken. He has never owned a computer and lived in a barely habitable place on the mountain. He is still living. He made four guitars of a particular style-Michael Hedges’ guitar being number 1, mine is number 3, and I dont know the whereabouts of 2 and 4. As for old growth mahogany, if any was replanted, it would be new or at least not old growth mahogany, would it not? I’m not sure that in the era of the old mahogany trees anyone cared about replanting trees. It’s true that historical ships’ ballast was sunk and reclaimed in modern days as well as timbers that were being transported via waterways were lost. Hope you find this interesting and a testament to old fashioned workmanship and modern day pioneer living.

Bourgeois guitars in Maine one of the best...These guitars in this video are very unique and special for sure. Price does not reflect value it is the workmanship and I sidestep hype when shopping for an instrument. Buy what you like and enjoy. I added a LAG acoustic to my collection and it too is a well made quality guitar with much attention to detail, materials and sound. Cheers Holly Westlake Maine USA

ZZZZzzzzzzzzzz........It's surprisingly easy to play. I would like to think so at that price tag. Nice guy (the luthier) all the same. A few images on his website of the guitars he has built wouldn't go amiss. Apparently John Fahey played one of his guitars? As for the guitar duet. To guys playing two different songs?
