the Black Angel Piezo dp235 has a 3.55 input jack for the Black Angel dp234 magnetic directly attached to the endpin it comes with so you can connect it directly to the sound hole Black Angel pickup. You just have one output but it is TRS stereo. A regular guitar cable will just pick up the piezo pickup but if you split the trs into 2 mono signals you can have both the piezo and magnetic coming out so you can preamp them on a mixer.

Super interesting. He is very well informed and educated. Much more technical than many of the artists who just use the standard general adjective. Always great to get actual demos (like other artists do), but the technical stuff is very interesting as well. Great vid!

Looks and sounds great. The poles appear pre-compensated just where you'd expect (and desire) for a bronze-wound string set. They also look adjustable by use of an allen wrench. Are they in fact adjustable, in case we want to mix gauges, or the gauge we use is odd? (I often use phosphor-bronze 10s on my acoustics.)

Obviously this Black Angel pickup works well with the under saddle and mic's you have in your guitar. Do you know of any information on the WWW or out in cyber space as to how the Black Angel works with other in guitar systems such as Taylor's electronics or McPherson's? Thank for any info you know or can direct me to. Glad to hear you have new records coming. Best of Luck.

Hi Michael, I'm not sure, many of the guitar systems are not set up to use a magnetic. Mike has separate outputs so there isn't a problem. You can test it by using the included cable (not wiring it into the guitar) in second channel. Hope that helps, Larry

Question: when installing a pickup, how does one run the pre-amp out the back of the guitar whilst also keeping the strap pins? Do I drill a new hole for the pre-amp, or a new hole for the strap pins? Great video btw. I love ur music

Hi, The pickups come with a stereo end pin jack. It works as a strap button, plus a stereo output as well. Hope that helps, Larry d2emr0qhzqfj88.cloudfront.net/s3fs-public/diagrams/Angel_1.pdf

Hey Larry! I really need your help. Trying to decide what dimarzios I want in my prs single cut with a 25" scale length. I'm going for a hard rock metal type sound but I want the the cleans to be good and I want rhythm to be pretty tight but clear on leads. I'm thinking a tone zone or maybe a paf if they can handle high gain without turning muddy. Any suggestions for bridge and neck combos? I want to stay loyal to you guys :)

+SandStormer Hi, The PAF 36th Anniversary’s will work well under high gain. They will retain the clarity on the low end where it counts. Hope that helps, Larry DiMarzio

Looks like there are THREE wires coming out of the end of the guitar. So he uses the magnetic Angel, a piezo UST Angel AND an internal mic?
@marcolively3891
@marcolively3891 8 жыл бұрын
There's only two coming out of his guitar; one is the angel, and the other is a "1/4 inch stereo jack" which means that the mic and the pizzeo are together on one cable. He's most likely using the K&k Trinity System, and mixing that and the angel in his Bose T1, but I'm not 100% sure. I don't know if the T1 can use 1/4 stereo Jacks. I asked Larry a few minutes ago so I hope he responds.
@marcolively3891
@marcolively3891 8 жыл бұрын
However, if he doesn't use a "1/4 inch stereo" then he may very well have three inputs.
@marcolively3891
@marcolively3891 8 жыл бұрын
Hello, I would really appreciate your help Larry. I'm really thankful for your involvement in this awesome product! So, I'm just curious how Mike is mixing the K&k Trinity (if that's what he uses for pizzeo and mic) and the Black Angel? I have the trinity installed currently, and just purchased the Black Angel (super stoked.) Currently I only have the K&k Trinity installed and I use the trinity pre amp to mix the two, which I constantly have feedback issues with. I'm wanting to know how I can mix all three? Do I need to purchase the Bose T1, or is there a cheaper alternative that will do the job? Please help.

+LarryDiMarzio Also, myself and someone else in this post are wondering if Mike has three inputs on his guitar, or is it like I assumed and he has the 1/4 inch stereo jack on one and the Black Angel on the other? Please Help.
@LarryDiMarzio
@LarryDiMarzio 8 жыл бұрын
+Marco Lively Yes, three outputs with two cables. When I made this video the stereo (if my memory is correct) cable had the Black Angle magnetic on one channel and a piezo plus internal mic mix on the second channel. The internal piezo and mic are combined and controlled in the guitar becoming one output. The second cable carried an additional (second) piezo that Mike uses to help with percussion. The three individual outputs then go into the effects and a Bose mixer. Hope that helps, Larry DiMarzio

Because there are lazy people online who sit down and hit the autoplay button and let YT show them videos for hours. Once they see one they don't care for they hit the thumbs down to make sure YT doesn't show them more like that particular video. That's the only rational explanation I could come up with, nothing else makes sense.

Whats your reccomended percussive guitar in the 300 dollar range?
@marcolively3891
@marcolively3891 8 жыл бұрын
look into a guitar that has a good percussive wood. Walnuts for the back and sides and cedars for the top are a great combo. There's some videos on KZbin where Lowden himself for Lowden Guitars talks about tone woods and he mention that one of his favorites are Claro walnut and cedar, I myself would agree. Usually you can find a nice Seagull at Guitar Center that has almost no finish on the wood and that would be a great starter. Any kind of coating or layer of Lacour to the woods gives the guitar a more plastic sound, so I personally don't prefer the more finished and glossy guitars as opposed to the natural ones. Guitars all sound different too so you'll need to just play a few and find a tone that you like, but keep in mind that guitars "open up" and the wood "matures" as they age, usually they sound better and better the more they're played. This is me rambling and just some things I looked for in guitars when I researched and started out, I hope this helped! cheers!

Is it my eyes, or is his guitar in a baritone scale? It somehow looks longer than a "regular" one ... or maybe it's just the guitar's shape.

Despite the brilliant tone and playing and informative talk (thanks for all that), this video is not a review or demo of the DiMarzio Black Angel on its own. Instead, the sound is blended from three different sources. This renders the video useless for anyone interested in hearing how the Black Angel sounds. How about a video in which the other two sources are switched off?
