Imagine if in 1992 you told some one that in 2022 you can buy a 500+ watt RMS amp a cheap sub, a basic headunit and a cheap pair of front speakers for under $150.. but gas is $5 a gallon... What a time to be alive!

Big D for the win, finding these Budget Gems under $100. This amp and the Blaupunkt 4000 are the ONLY amps I've seen under $100 that make 500 watts RMS or better. Its hard to find amps with such a good cost per watt like this that are under 3000 watts rms.

I just got this amp installed in my kid's car and it powers an old single voice coil 4 ohm 12" Pioneer sub nicely. I played it for a while and it never got hot. One thing to consider on this amp is the blue LED on the bass knob is SUPER BRIGHT! I'm going to paint over it with a black sharpie or cover it with black electrical tape before I mount it. Otherwise it is a good deal and surprisingly it sounds pretty decent. Now I just wait to see how long it lasts.

Finished tuning. Set it up with a 10db overlap. Sounded pretty good considering we used a kicker comp r. Can't complain, didn't explode and didn't get stupid hot.

Just got this amp to power a setup I built for my son's truck. It hits hard like a class D monobloc should, even better than the old JVC 200W monobloc class AB that I had lying around (which would be a great candidate for you to test...I've pushed it at 1 ohm loads and it held up). It seems like so many modern class D monoblocs are overkill, both in terms of price and output. Unless you're going really loud or competition level, you don't need to go over 500 watts. I'm pushing a 6.5" SKAR with a passive radiator at 4 ohms in a double-cab truck and it's plenty loud.

Ok big D I finally got a sub and hooked up the leiges 500.d . I bought a ct sounds 10 and a 12" ported tube box. I cut a smaller baffle to fit the sub since the box opening was for a 12. The sub needs breaking in because I hooked it up and checked it out but I've been working and haven't had time to really mess with it. But just from the short ride to work it seems to hold it's own. I'll report back after about a week of music listening.

Since the beginning I always go by the fuse . A 30 amp fuse is 300 overall a 50 amp or 2 25 is just 500 no matter what the box says . Fuse to me is the key . 10 amp fuse equals 100 watts , overall. I don’t know but that always had worked for me .

Hi big D, you’re right, those remotes are cheap looking and feeling, but there are so many brands who use the same remote. For example my Hertz HDP1 monobock has got the same (retired). My much older, also retired, two channel Hifonics Zeus XI had a decent aluminum remote, despite the age difference. Maybe the reason is that more often people don’t use the remote like in the past but use the head unit or DSP to control the sub level and therefore these controllers are used by company’s like this to bring the costs down.

Every time I see spade terminals I skip whatever amp has them. It’s the one feature you can clearly see that tells you whomever made the amp went cheap on the components. The only indicator that is more reliable is the name “boss” on it.

I have a qsc xd8 powering two 18in subs for my movie theater… qsc is a little expensive but there’s Rockville rack amps that claim a lot of power for 1/3 of the price. I’m just curious how close these cheaper amps compare to more expensive (but I don’t expect you to buy them) just an idea!!
