@@TBO207 I had the same thing happen to me. The last time I was building systems for cars was early and mid 1990s. I had a US Amps 100HC and I hooked it up to two 10" Pyramid Cast Pro subs. The cheap subs handled it for a while but eventually the spider ripped and the coil extruded completely from the motor. Apparently the 100HC pushed it right past its xmax.

That’s what’s up for a cheap 15! Back to the og tests of budget subs. You should do a build in the pickup and do a budget amp to match it since you def threw way to much power at this one lol.! Maybe like a recoil, top strong gear , black diamond, or sound digital and see how they all pair up

Alphard audio is selling the discontinued machete fight 15s for 120$. Those are 800 RMS and I've been running 2 of them for a couple of years now and I love em. If the Amazon sub was around the 100 dollar mark, or less, they might be worth it. Just my opinion.

Ive been testing out my Skar VXF - 12 And it honestly is great. I've been pushing right below clipping around 2000 watts for at least 2 hours a day and it has held up great so far. Next is the STU -12. Can't wait for that

I just bought a set of W15K9D4 Rockvilles, but I'm having issues fitting the box in the trunk of my BMW...😂😂😂 It's definitely tight in there. My dual 12" box fits in there no problem.

I got the last version Wlldse 12 or basically knock of Sundown SA. I have 2 of them on a Smart 3k wired down @ .5 and absolutely no problems. I do like they new baskets.

What's crazy is those old baskets actually came from sundown. That last version was the deal of the century. Unfortunately sundown sold them a exact amount of baskets and no more so I doubt that model will ever be back again...

I would think a duty cycle would be the deciding factor of overall power handling such as the way electric motors & Transformers are rated. Now if the speaker manufacturer rates their speaker at 40hz@600watts continuous then that rating would reason as its Max. But like a lot of Industries there are very thin amounts of Industry standards and companies can State anything they want.. .

5 cubic foot net enclosure space, 16 sq inches of port area per cube, at 80 sq inches of port area total, tuned to 32 hz.. at least 1.5 inches of baffle thickness.. add a brace in the center of the subs chamber.. use sub box pro for free online to design your box. use your subs specs for cut out hole diameters, sub displacement, etc, for reference.. and it helps to have access to a table saw, and a decent router with flush trim bits, a cutting bit, and a roundover bit, and a rounter circle jig.. i got a nice bosch plunge router from a pawn shop for 90 bucks.. bosch makes great, smooth, quieter saws... get em second hand to save money, if ya can.. thats all ya need to start your new box building hobby.. watch a few videos, and by your 3rd box, youll be making boxes good enough, people will want you to make them a box.. then you can make all your own boxes for the price of wood, instead of gately prices lol... 🤷

I have the 3600 watt version, it is indeed a beast. Ran it on a 2800 watt RMS pro audio amp doing outdoor sub duty for 5 hours with the amp soft clipping. Didn't even flinch.

I’ve had the 12” model of the one he’s currently testing and I’ve been treating the gain knob as the volume and with a 2500 watt amp wired to 1ohm I have been unsuccessful in my attempts at trying to blow it up !!!! 😏😆 neeedddd moooo powaaaas 💨 lol it did smoke off just as his did but not as extreme since i was a lot easier on my woofer the first two days and then I was like who care if it blows it blows and I’ve been sending it day in day out and it hasn’t skipped a beat yet! Now what am I going to do I have a bigger better sub lined up in the works and I’m counting on this thing to blow so I can get some money back AHAHHA 😂🤫

@@onesikm3- Do you know about impedance rise, that occurs while playing music? Example: Your amp @ 1ohm resistive load= a dummy bank used on amp dyno tests= is always 1 ohm. So if your amp @ 1 ohm on a dummy load= amp dyno, and it put out 2800 dynamic. In your vehicle wired to 1 ohm to speakers= a reactive load= changes with every freq., played with music, and averages 2x to 4x of your wired= @ rest impedance. So your speakers with music are getting 700 to 1400 watts, instead of the 2800 watts on amp dyno. Hope this help's!?

Hey I been giving that thing hell for the last month and ya it smelled a little at first feeding it the beans! But surprisingly now that I’m trying it to blow it up I cant lol. I think it settled those coils into its home rest position 😅 literally just came home becuSe one of my neighbors was charging toward me with that twitch In his eyes lookin like he was ready to murder me 😂 no lie I was not about to wait around and see what his friendly looking sweaty stressed out like looking face had to say! I’m sure he had a few sweet words to tell me hahah 😂 I got the 12” it was saying 900rms. I made a short clip if anyone is curious to see it flexin but definitely would recommend if you were on a tight budget. This was just an in between woofer for me until my actual speaker is ready but in quiet impressed so far. The ever slightly Smokey voice coil in the opening stages wasnt too cool too witness but I’ve not been able to get it to smoke again or bottom out ever with my setup. I think you just went a little hard on it at first. I need to examine my coil too thou: I think it was excess glue in both our cases im still mid way into your video so let’s see what you find bro lol

Hey Parker, I have a super crew cab f-150 and I wanted to do an under seat build something along the lines of 3 JL audio tw5s on a 1500, but I’ve recently been tossing up the idea of just folding the seats up and throwing 2 18s back there. I would love to have something loud and something that digs deeps but I’m really not sure. don’t use the back seats much but when I do I’m glad I have them, My question is what would you do, and would the JLs be enough

any sub rated at rms should last for hours on that power Sundown does last for many hours at their rating even when going past the rms and i know sundown under rates their subs I always do about 1000 watts more into them just got the sundown NSV6 15's i'm gonna push a solid 4000 watts each into them and i know they will take it
