Well, Mr. HistoryHunter, you have done it again! Another great video and history lesson. I did not realize that you could get to Denmark from Germany. I was looking at a map of Europe and I saw Hamburg which made me think of a gun show that I took my son to when he was about the size of your little son. My son is 55 now so it was a good while ago. I purchased an empty envelope that is addressed to Herr Adolf Hitler at the Reichskanzler or some kind of spelling like that in Berlin and it is postmarked Hamburg, Germany, 1937. More trivia... It was great of you to take videos of Denmark and show it to all your viewers along with all of the bunkers made by the Germans. They must have been working day and night to complete all of them. Keep up the good work and I really, really appreciate your videos and your humor. Keep a digging.... Chevy

Hi, I just wanted to say that since I stumbled upon your videos today I have watched about 3 hours straight. I would just like to thank you for bringing us on your hunts. I love finding out history regarding the 1st and 2nd World Wars but I live in Australia and don't think I will ever have the opportunity to travel to Europe to see all this for myself. I also love that you bring you kids on some of your treks as it is very important for our children to understand what both sides went through. Thank you mate and keep up the good work. Chris

The area was the HQ for the artillery based in the Hanstholm area. The bunker at 2:42 is an H688 personnel shelter for 6 men. In the distance at 3:22 is an H621 personnel shelter for a 10 man infantry section. The HQ at 3:36 was a Sonderkonstruktion or SK bunker, specifically made for that location. What can i say? The Atlantikwall is my favourite subject. Also thanks for pointing out the first bunker......i've never seen that one before!

Hey - magic stuff!! After discovering some of these emplacements in Normandy and down around the mouth of the Gironde I used to spend a lot of time trying to work them out then spending breaks visiting these things - they had me entranced in the '70's/80's. The large bunker you open with; i've come across several of these, puzzlingly usually built at a greater depth (as in below road level) than those surrounding but with apparently no way in. There's one at Merville batt. also down near Royan by a camp entrance which was visible in '72 and you could climb down to, then walk around it but by '89 had been buried - roadside ammo bunkers close to as well; blown by retreating troops i think yet to this day its floor is filled at depth with every type of blown and almost mint ammo you could think of! Yes your posts are excellent, thanks for putting them up (i'm getting the bug again)!

Hello! Thx for the video. The tower on the command bunker is actually an air observation tower. Used by the air observers corps of the danish homeguard during the cold war. Nymindegab has the main Homeguard school, so the tower was/is probably used for training. Most were dismantled at the end of the cold war. The Air Observers Corps was extremely effective. NATO pilots were amazed, that the Homeguard could map their exact flightpath during exercises! Keep up the good work!

Excellent information and video, so great to see the past even though it was the result of war. I'm certain many people do not like to see the reminders daily but for history's sake I'm glad so many of the bunkers, etc. are still standing. Can you tell me is there a significant reason for the red-orange colored rooftops? It looks as though they are all the same color. This was a great trip for you and thank you for sharing it with us.
