Thanks for your video, I’m going to do the sub same day today for the first time and was curious to know how that works. I’m glad to see it looks the same as the regular one:) Oh let me share this trick: Whenever your actual delivery location is different from the one the app wants you to go, just turn on airplane mode. This will allow you to continue and complete the delivery, so you don’t waste your time calling the support. Literally works no matter how many miles away you are from the original stop suggested by the app.

Omg! Are you serious? Calling support all the time to pinpoint the coordinates for the delivery address that’s showing out of area is such a hassle! Not to mention feeling like a creep standing at the address trying to deliver a package when the app won’t let you. Thank! I’m gonna try that trick next time this happens.

I just started Flex about 2 months ago. The sub same day are the only ones I've ever done, they are majority of my offers. So far so good, I really like Flex. I did a 5 hour yesterday for $160 so they pay pretty well most of the time!

Thanks for the video. I recently left DoorDash because they’re doing the same thing as GoPuff, lowering wages. I love the gig jobs because they give me the flexibility I need. Unfortunately a lot of them are starting to pay less. I was nervous to start Amazon Flex too but after watching your video it’s pretty much the same thing as DoorDash. Only I don’t have to deal with customers (I was in customer service too) or snobbish employees at restaurants. Keep up the good work and great videos Ed!

Currently doing Flex and I highly recommend going in to your itinerary scrolling down to the bottom and then start loading your packages in order from last to first. It makes it sooo much faster to deliver when you know exactly where each package is (or where it should be) and dont have to search thru every one.

@@udance4ever i do vary it a bit depending on what I actually pick up but generally all boxes in back and all envelopes/bags in front. If I have less envelopes/bags, I'll put smaller boxes in front too but that doesnt happen too often. Its usually lots LOL

@@veralice09 this is something that I haven't done with Amazon. I used to do it with uber and Lyft. For amazon, I just take whatever they offer right away. It can backfire and someone else will take it and it's gone for good. I hope that made sense.

I do flex in Portland. I never done sub same day. I either do Whole Foods or package delivery out of Fairview location. Fairview location is the best location for me because of their delivery area does not include downtown Portland which is so bad. 2-11-23

Then I rent a car from Lyft to drive for them and Uber, then flex. Flex used to be my main source of income as a gig job but it’s shifted to Lyft nowadays. Flex is fine as long as you only do high paying blocks. I tell people to never ever do base paying blocks because you'll always lose with those. Even if you have a bad route with high pay outs atleast it softens the blow.

It seems like it's just like doing a regular block, but course with a different pickup location and different areas to park at the pickup location. I may try it out. I like the regular block where we all roll in a long line and get divided Into the separate time frame lanes then have a cart placed behind the car. Anyway, thanks for the Informative video.

@@EdCollects update: I did a vca5 batch this morning, and it wasn't too bad. The only thing is it took me out to yuba city in the gusty wind and light rain. I noticed that they don't have the packages necessarily in order. It's grouped by letters not numbered like at West Sac. The good thing is that there were no big boxes.

I did my first one-day after maybe 50 blocks the last 3-4 months. I couldn't tell the difference other than I was able to scan in the QR code of the *whole bag* instead of each package which was super nice. the other difference is everyone leaves at the same time & u have to stay in yr car til u get the green light. looks like I'll be doing 2 more tmrw & Monday so I'll circle around and share if I notice anything else!

I started flex just a week ago. For me, it’s either really good and easy or really bad. Like yesterday they give me 50+ packages and 20 some stops for 3hr block. 2 of the packages were in restricted area so I couldn’t go in and plus they is no security guards. Wasted so much time still couldn’t deliver it. My block started at 5:30pm but 16packages were to delivered to business closes before 5pm 🤦‍♀️. So much time wasted like calling the customers and support. i ended up working 2more hours. But I got lucky today. I had 3hr block for $81 but the warehouse didn’t have any packages left so they just paid me. And I just went home. I’ve never done “same day” delivery. But I have one tomorrow so I am little nervous 😬

I had a block from hell yesterday! 48 packages, 3 Hour block, 40 downtown Sacramento apartments! It took me an hour longer than I was scheduled for. Oh well, earlier that day I also got paid $84 but did nothing because they overbooked. Win some lose some.

You are absolutely right.! I hate apartments too.! This is such a …..💩 Most of the time I lose at least 15 minutes of my time! in the damn apartments. If it is a lux apartment, it is worth.! You can neither enter nor leave after entering. They doesn’t give the access code, because it's secret. And they add a note saying "drop it by my front door". 🤦🏻‍♀️🤮🤮🤮 most of the time their addresses are wrong or something, so shit. I don't even write about newly built apartments. You can never get correct address.

Thanks for the detailed video. I deliver for an Amazon DSP and deliver upwards 35 stops per hour depending on the area. I don't expect to need the entire 5 hours Amazon gives me for a block. If I finish early, can I start a new block or do I have to wait till the 5 hours is up?

You have to start numbering your packages. I already do Amazon flex I normally can only get sub same day. Number your packages it’s easier put 1-10 in the front seat. And the rest in the back seat and trunk….I haaaaaaaate apartments as well

I almost lost my ability to deliver to Amazon . I was kicked off the app looking at the shelves in front of me … no internet signal… and CS cant do nothing about. It happened FOUR times… they tell us to email CS .. which I did… so many times..by the time I realized there is a bot answering my emails I wasted a LOT of time. My first batch was in IRVINE … 40 packages… majority on a huge apartment complex… and then… UCI. A master deliver could not do 40 packages in these locations.. I m super athletic but I cant do magic … how do u handle an apartment complex of over 2 thousand doors and thrive , I wonder… Tk u for ur videos. I sub!🎉

So if your block is 4 or 5 hours, but it only takes you say 2-3 hours to delivery all the packages. I know there's a 8 hour maximum a day but does that go by the block length or the actual time it took you to deliver that block.

Ever since they started charging customers $10 per delivery, it severely dried up where I live in the Sacramento area. They were my favorite blocks to get. Instead of getting 15 or 20 a week, I get maybe 3 if I'm lucky. That's why I do so many sub same-day blocks now.

Yeah, when I delivered out of Kirkland I rarely went towards downton Seattle. The Whole Foods in Bellevue and Redmond were the best. When I delivered out of Renton there was a 40% chance I'd have to go to Seattle. Good luck!

I was hoping you’d explain what the difference is between sub same day and regular blocks. They seem to pay more but I don’t want to deliver all over the city(Albuquerque, NM). Regular blocks pretty much assign to a certain area of the city instead of all over the city. That’s a gas waster!

The very first route I did for Amazon Flex was from that same warehouse, VCA5, and it took me to downtown Sac to deliver to mainly apartments. It was a 4 hour block, and it took me 7 hours. How often do you get downtown routes? Just curious cause that first route was demoralizing :(

I've only had one horrible downtown apartment block, and I've probably done 40 from that warehouse. Those are very rare from my experience. They won't all be like that! I'd quit if I had to do those every day!

I got the vest from a Whole Foods in Folsom. They were giving them out one day. Good luck on your first shift! It's so easy. Make sure you're not late. Go into the warehouse and get your assignment. Then just follow directions from the app. Apartments can be a pain but you'll get through them. It's almost impossible to screw up. Let me know how it went!

I did a long gravel road delivery it had been raining since the day before, the last Amazon driver left the last package outside the stoop in the rain. I whipped it of with my shirt and set it next to my package it takes nothing to be kind but ey we all knew it was clothes no hate hate, I have way less hate with Amazon than door dash like I wanna spit it the food for driving 20 miles in northern va for 2.25$ but that’s fuck up haha

Yes, prime now is grocery delivery with TIPS. I can't say how many miles they'll make you drive, it varies. Close some days, far other days. It's definitely worth it.

Yes I've done a lot more of these and most of the time I'm pleasantly surprised with how few packages I get. Of course there are days that I have to drive a lot more miles than I'd like. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with downtown apartment complexes, but I like doing these for the most part. Lately I've been doing more Walmart Spark driving just because I'm closer to Walmart stores than Amazon Warehouses.

I just signed up for amazon flex and see a lot of Sub same day deliveries in my area. What exactly does this mean ? What’s the difference between sub same day and prime?

Sub same day is just for orders that amazon NEEDS to be delivered earlier than usual. They pay more and give out less packages than normal, in my experience. There are no tips though. The only way to get tips is doing prime now and/or whole foods blocks.

They release blocks randomly throughout the day based on demand. There should be a lot in the Sacramento area. Just keep checking.

I do prime now and whole foods when I can get them. They are hard to get now. I have done logistics and flex. I prefer fkex. Downtown Minneapolis sucks too because there is no parking. I dont like the apartments that I can't get into. Also when people leave their dogs outside when they know that they are expecting a delivery. Lol.
