Hi GG. Thank you so much for all the help. I have followed your videos and really benefitted from them. I got the offer to join AWS as Technical Program Manager. Months of hard work. Definitely paid off. From my interview experience, wanted to add couple of points. 1. For TPM roles, they do ask a lot of data driven questions. Ex: how did you change or make a decision based on data (metrics etc) ? 2. Please prepare for more 5 examples of the failure question. It can be asked in terms of giving & receiving negative feedback, having to change scope of a project based on negative outcomes etc.

Awesome content as usual! I was wondering if you would be able to make a video on the internship interview process, if you any experience or insight regarding that particular process. Whether it is as in depth as an interview for say an L4 position, what the difficulty is in securing an internship offer vs a permanent position offer. That kinda thing. Looking to apply for the Associate Solutions Architect internship program next year.

For my interview loop, I need to put together a 10 min presentation based on a case study. I’ve heard Amazon is anti-PowerPoint decks so wondering if I should stay away from using one?

Use PowerPoint they’ve asked you for it. Amazon doesn’t expect candidates to suddenly change the way they communicate.

I’m interviewing for a legal Program Manager role. I have corresponded with the recruiter via email a few times and just had my phone/video screen with the hiring manager. I was told at the end of the interview that I’d be moving forward to an interview loop. Should I send a follow up to the recruiter, and can I ask the recruiter what level the position is? (Or did I fail and should’ve asked the hiring manager?) I asked for a salary range via email before but was not told what it was. The job would require me to relocate and I want to make sure it’s even a possibility. Also, how do the virtual interview loops work - Are they all in one day?
@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone5032 жыл бұрын
I suggest you contact your recruiter and ask them every questions you have. It's usually possible to split your loop over a couple of days.

I passed the interview but was placed on a waitlist for the L4 AM role (no open positions available atm). Based on ur experience, is this common, and do all people waitlisted eventually get an offer? - If no, how long before I am sure of no offer?

Thanks for all your help GG! I have my second phone screening coming up for a Sr. Product Manager position and the recruiter said its okay to reuse examples from the first on the second, but I don't want to give the same example twice, especially if second interviewer will see first's notes. At the same time, I don't know if I should use my "best" examples during the phone screen and don't want to end up having to make up examples for Loop interview. Thoughts?
@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone5032 жыл бұрын
Use your best examples at 2nd phone screen or you may never make it to loop. You can use the same examples by employing the trick of reshaping your example to suit a different leadership principle. If you reshape it really significantly altough it is the same broad situation- your task, action and result should be very different.

Your stories don’t come near demonstrating the leadership principles or they lack scope or they lack complexity or a combination of those.

@kbdab: Did Amazon actually give you this feedback after your interview? Everything I've read is they do not "due to liability & confidentially concerns" provide feedback if declined.
@kbdab27 күн бұрын
@@russellbradleigh3393 the recruiter either lied or told that truth that she wanted me to interview for a position that didn't feel strongly and didn't apply for. She claimed the hiring manager liked my resume. I guess she felt bad and had a long friendly talk after the rejection. I find recruiters can be worst than used cars salesmen during talents shortage. Amazon interviews are unforgiving so go for positions you feel strongly prepared for.

Despite having over 20 years of experience as an engineer, I find myself getting nervous and not presenting myself as the seasoned professional I am when in front of an interviewer or panel.
