So I attended IGN Live Friday and the only reason a majority of the people in the front are cheering was because they were throwing freebies/gifts into the crowd. There was a hype crew for the show that would constantly tell the crowd to cheer/applause in certain moments of the presentation (People were going crazy for more prizes that were given or going to be given away and not the actual presentation). Also it sucked because a majority of the people that were in the front got a majority of the prizes and it wasn't actually live. Actual event/ showcase schedule is at the show and what was "streamed live" wasn't actually live because I left early into the afternoon and they were showing what I saw at the show a few hours ago. That's why I respect the Resident Evil movies, because instead of trying to key jangle fans, they created a new story in the world of Resident Evil, which allows us to now talk about Alice and her story in the films, as well as the classic characters like Leon, Claire, Chris, Sherry etc. Alice is an Original character in those 6 movies, and they hardly ever referenced or retold the video game events. Like it all started out pretty similarly in the first 2 films, then in Extinction they went down a different Path, only bringing recognizable characters from the games to the fil later on. Carlos in the 2nd, Claire in the 3rd, Wesker and Chris in the 4th, Leon, Ada, and Berry in the 5th, and then it all ended like it started. With just Alice. Those movies successfully told an original story, sometimes well, sometimes not so well, but an original story over all.

No Man Sky got review bombed and today is one of the best sandbox survival games on the market. So review bombing does make a difference in many cases.

i always thought about getting into new world but i never saw any promising features and it felt like amazon started pulling away after first few months due to underwhelming numbers. I am pretty sure they stated they wanted at least 200k concurrent players and they dipped to less than 40k players in less than 5 months. 1 million player peak to less than 30k is death to almost any game.

@@luke2806 Then there are MMO who "modernize" like Eso and get rid of anything that made it interesting cause of new baby gamers, - 3 realms in constant war where you earn traveling to other realms through beating the mainstory? Naaaah, now you can go anywhere ,anytime no matter how little sense that makes lore wise. - Leveling up to beat enemies in stronger Regions? Naaah we just get get rid of enemies lvls all together, now every demon will be as strong as the rats you fight in other regions and no challenge at all, because that makes total sense.

its a port to console and swimming with a few medium sized things like 10 man raid and ffa pvp zone as well. not horrendous but it was hyped up to be a huge insane update

It was probably the most hyped mmo game in history when it released and prior. People are willing to spend and endure garbage just for the hype. Just ask Logan Paul and KSI about their prime. A perfect example how a garbage products can be inflated this way without being good in the first place

Well it was very fun early on but once the honeymoon phase was over I desired more and i suppose the developers did deliver or something like that eventually. I think i clocked like 600 hours after release before i went into the "waiting for content and fixes" hibernation. The PvP bits were fine as long as the territories were sort of similar in power level but eventually all the good players who wanted to do PvP at all banded together to "bully" the worse players... Bully ain't exactly the right word, but it was the natural outcome when a few territories dominated to such a degree. So when the best aspect of the game started to feel bad, well then there was simply nothing left to retain players since the PvE was extremely grindy.
