For my interviews from L3 to L4 the most important part of my answers was that I showed "scope." Every story I had needed to go across departments and the four corners (FHD FHN BHD BHN) It didn't matter that I was only a PA. I was expected to already have the scope of an AM. S.B. is totally accurate about the STAR method.

PLEASE ADD TO THE LIST. 1) Tell me a time when you did not agree with your manager's decision on a situation or on a project, what was the outcome? 2) Tell me a time when you took ownership of a project, what was the outcome? Math question : If it takes eight hours of labor for four persons to produce 600 items, how many persons would you need in those eight hours to produce 1500 items.

I got my offer letter yesterday. Thank you for posting all the positive videos. My advice using STAR method is definitely stay focus on what you specifically did, not us not we but what you did specifically. I agree give them numbers and metrics. Show how you were able to save or generate revenue. I gave an example of how I help HR save by not over scheduling. My interview was easy beacuse I did alot of research and I prepared well. I'm coming from the outside so I used situation at my current job and just lined it up to the STAR method.

Confidence and being prepared is key. You can be prepared, but lack confidence and hold yourself back. Don’t let yourself hold yourself back. But don’t be arrogant either. A positive mindset and attitude will get you further in the long run.

It is hard to be confident if you already had 4 interviews and have never gotten inclined. I had my fifth interview last week and it only lasted 10 minutes, it was just 4 behavioral questions. It looks like I was not inclined again.

SB! I came across your channel, laughed at a lot of what you talked about cause it was so relatable. I got inclined last week for PA because of the confidence I got from what your mentor said “they’re looking for reasons to incline you, not reasons to decline you.” Leading up to my interview, I didn’t get to do a mock interview. I went in cold but confident. Only one of the questions I had actually had a prepared response for. When I finished the interview, I reflected on my responses while looking at the leadership principles, and realized that I covered all 14 of the leadership principles multiple times. I was also sure to ask the interviewer questions about how he got to where was and where I was with my life. That might have been what sealed the deal for me, but in any case, THANK YOU! For anyone out there who comes across the same problem as me in regards to having to come up with a story on the spot, take your time. Format the story in the STAR method, and be confident. Make the interviewer believe that you are suitable for the role by just believing in yourself and what you can bring to the team. Thank you again SB!

@@genjimccorkle5518 from when I started, which was late January 2022, I got my interview at the beginning of September of 2022, and got the incline at the end of the month. I ended up getting my offer letter for T3 on 12/18, so, I’m about a week away from my year as a PA.

I decided to pursue an HR certificate. After that a certification in HR. I love being a learning ambassdor! Working for Hr will pay more and I can focus more on policy and federal, state and employment laws that we have to follow. I want to be a liason between employees and management, but still work together as a team to obtain a common goal.

Been in several interviews and got a PA position in November 2021 and then got the position in corporate AZA3 only months after becoming a PA. What I changed for my PA and corporate interview compared to others is I literally made my stories SIMPLE and got to the point! Do not ramble! I even said “the situation was” “the task at hand was” “the action I took was” and “the outcome/results was”. Also your stories should be Amazon based. Try not to have stories from other jobs or from school

One of the things I would say is recruiters want to see your passion for the position, so mention you are passionate about the work you've done in the past and want to apply that passion to the new position if you get it.

So I had my 3rd Tier 3 interview last Wednesday and it actually was a very good one. The last 2 definitely didn't go as good as this last one. The first one I had was for a Learning Trainer, I was emailed and had a week to prepare, however I didn't recieve word until like a month later via my AM. Second interview is for a PA, I was actually Slacked by an IB AM (Slack is Amazon's Work Messaging Platform). I only had a few hours, but I had already been interviewed. The second one was significantly shorter than the first one, and I actually wasn't asked any interview questions, which had me kinda concerned. I found out a week later that I didn't get it. Third time, I got slacked again by the OB OM. Again I had less than 24 hours to prepare. This one was a good 45 minutes, it was also very productive. I did get asked questions based on the principles of Customer Obsession, Earning Trust and Hiring and Developing The Best. I was told I would be slacked once again. I'll let y'all know if it's happening.

Confidence is definitely key I was able to get a moch interview with my am and 2 with leadership I would definitely recommend having 1 or 2 to help prepare and get 2 stories per leadership principles I was asked 3-5 questions and a math question but it was easy basic multiplication and subtraction and if possible get prep material from leadership

I had quiet a few stories crazy thing is I had a conversation with my pa before the interview and she told me a story that happened on the docks and I used that in my interview and I absolutely killed it on that story… during the interview is definitely critical thinking I made sure I asked for them to repeat the questions just so I can fully grasp the question

Hey S.B. My opinion is that STAR method is an important part of interviewing because it requires candidates to prove how they solved problems. I first learned about STAR framework of behavioral in my Psychology class at my University. And that it is a technique used by interviewers to gather all the relevant information about a specific capability that jobs require. The first time that I interviewed becoming a Nurse I had to give a real life situation to complete the interview. During my internship , my co-worker had to take time off from work and left an unfinished project. My Supervisor instructed me to finish the project and with no leniency on the deadline. I had days to complete a project that originally should have taken weeks. I aced it of course (Lol). Thank you for providing educational information with substance. STAR method is just the technical name of being brief but keeping things concise and focus on what's undeniably relevant to your story.When answering questions at a job interview. Its just meant to be simple. For example, explain flowers without giving too much details.

So, I have been an interim PA twice at my building but I've been applying for the regular PA position but haven't even been able to get an interview and I don't understand why. So, I started applying in other buildings and am scheduled for an interview in another building. The thing is, I'd rather stay in my current building. If you get an offer in another building can you go to management in your building to see if they will give you an offer to stay?

I didn't even get time to prepare for mine I got handed a piece of paper that night at 7pm and said I had an interview at 10pm. 1 hour into the interview I get told being a PA would just hold me back and that I should just apply for something else. Did the job of a PG for 9 months and knew my department backward and forwards been in the department 2 and half years. Who did they give the position to somebody who has been at amazon for 6 months and doesn't do squat but be on their phone and stand around all night? SMH

SB can you help me out with the curiosity test or quiz? They give us a deadline and one hour off the floor in which that is not working me and I would say about 20 more PAs haven't even put a dent in it because they want us on the floor But at the same time when we're not on the floor, it hurts the team PG or reactive when they should be proactive and a whole Lotta other things are FPY Is not good on the ship dock outbound, so can you help me out please? Where can I find the answers actually encouraging us to do whatever we need to do get it done.

Well this is my first time watching any of your videos and I am being interviewed for a Seasonal PA position and I am slightly nervous because I have only worked for Amazon for just over 2 years and in that time I have become a Learning Ambassador and like you, I put a ton of pressure upon myself because I have always had the mindset of wanting to move from the very first day I started with Amazon. So yes, I am slightly stressed out. At any rate, I need any advice I can get to truly walk away from this interview with an immediate incline just like you. I don’t have a ton of stories at all but I have plenty of experience ranging from my Naval career all the way to my time in Amazon. Plus, I do feel like I possess the skills and the abilities to be a leader. But I love the video so far and I look forward to watching more.

I have an upcoming PA interview. I am nervous. I am not favored and going up against someone who is very liked. I have asked for help in structuring my stories in the STAR format but was just given a sheet of paper. I asked for a mock interview haven't gotten a response. I have no numbers or metrics to add to my stories. I have been with Amazon for 2 yrs and have been a PG for 1 yr. I am given all the physically demanding tasks, thrower, jam clearer etc. On the computer side hardly shown a thing. I just need help to ace this interview. I have helped to train the last 2 PAs and they both left after a short stint. I will be a great PA.

For me I’ve always just clicked the accept button in the email, but if you can sign it in person I would prob. Do that too it’s always good to sign an agreement especially when your dealing with a company.

I have an interview coming up and is freaking out. what if I have little Amazon experience or have never been in a leadership role at amazon but have experience in aviation. do they want only warehouse experience or stories to tell.

You got this! And its mostly off stories, I've seen people get hired and had no warehouse history but had good stories from previous jobs even some with stories from school that didn't have previous work history, pretty crazy.

I was interviewed for PA not knowing the star method and I was told I had the right answers but i didn't go into details, i was too direct. I didnt get the job , but 3 days later there was another PA position and they offered it to me.. I recommend to practice for this interview

Had a phone interview with Loss Prevention and the interviewers questions had nothing to do with the job and the questions was very weird.

@@michellejones1040 I really feel that the interviewer ask questions at his / her own discretion. The guy on the phone was asking me about my prior jobs and what actions did I take when an emergency arose. I guess he wanted me to implement the STAR method on those too. Amazon is a backwards company and very dysfunctional to say the least.

I just went through the interview for a PA two nights ago. I was told to pick up a laptop from HR to use during the interview so that I could read and have the questions in front of me that the interviewer was posting on the chime app. Well, HR did not have a working laptop available for me to use. The one they gave me was broken, I went back to ask for another laptop but none were available. The questions were posed and a couple of the questions were really 3-4 questions in one. So needless to say this made the interview very difficult because remembering the multiple questions in one question was tough. When I asked the interviewer to repeat the question he became upset and told me that the question is on the laptop screen. I informed him that a working laptop was not available and the one given to me to use was broken. I feel that he should have stopped and rescheduled the interview at that point. After I did answer one of his questions he responded with “you didn’t answer the full question”. I was reluctant to ask him to repeat the question because he became irate when I asked previously. I left the interview completely deflated. I explained to my manager what had happened and he immediately took me to the operations mgr and asked that I be given another interview. That OM said if I do not get a PA offer that he will reschedule me another interview. But to me that indicates that someone else then got the offer. I also sent an email to HR about the laptop problem and they apologized and gave me the “reason” a working laptop was not available. They have offered to reschedule me for another interview if I choose to do so. I’m going to reply to HR and accept a second interview. I am a visual learner so not having the questions in front of me was a handicap.

You should of ask a manger for a lap top because I'm sure there is extras. I ask a QB for a laptop. Or you could of use your phone

@@bigt9972 when you only have a few minutes to prepare there was no time to hunt down a laptop. I eventually interviewed and got a L3 spot in non-inventory.
