It is always sad when you see old buildings with character being demolished. All new builds look he same. Inside with all the modern facilities they look good. If they can be renovated then great. This one was clearly going to be more cost effective by destroying. I guess the new houses/hotel/flats or what ever will take it's place will keep the hotels name (hopefully) However sadly, it is one of many and more to come, losses of past times as we knew it . Not only for Blackpool, all over. Great timing for this one! Well Done!

This would have been unthinkable only 20 years ago, but several hotels up at South Shore have suffered a similar fate. Changing social patterns, foreign holidays and easy access to Blackpool have meant that most families no longer spend a week or two at the seaside as in the past. Blackpool has suffered as a consequence, which is very sad, especially when one has sen the resort in its heyday. The Ambassador Hotel was probably in its prime during the 1930s and the following decades until the 1980s.

There's one scaffolding company here in Vienna that had a few embarassing accidents in the past 20 years or so. Twice scaffolding came down in storms, damaging cars and houses on the other side of the street and once they had to take everything down because it was leaning away from the house more and more. I'd usually change my route on windy days if I saw any signs of that contractor!

It's gonna take some real skill and luck not to damage the Rutland next door, alot of the work to ensure damage isn't caused(cutting girders and roof supports) is normally done before demolition starts to take place but obviously that hasn't been possible here. Some of them girders etc, will run through both properties.

@@johnroberts8233 good question ... in my research i would say a lot older than we are led to believe ... most certainly built during Tartarian rule ... since their demise evidence of their existence has slowly been eradicated ... because they would not want us to know that the Tower was a source of free energy so they rewrote all the history books and burned alexandria then the ww1 and ww2 allowed then to complete the process .... thankfully incomplete as since ww2 more vital information was unearthed ... dead sea scrolls naga hamadi etc ... we are ruled now by an alien race of reptilians that andromedans are in the process of removing for our ascension to the 5th dimension ... the reptiles are not going without a fight and thats why britain is in such a mess because qe2 was head honcho and her genetic line swamp the uk in castles ... they also run the world media so thats all fake too ... however they need you to stay out of the way whilst they seek find and remove these psychopaths ... the virus is specifically designed to kill reptiles and hybrids the vaccine is another story that i cant talk about here ive already lost two facebook accs i would hate to lose my youtube for telling the truth

When I mentioned about the Ambassador to my parents, my mother said her and my father had stayed there, she checked through her old diaries and found that it was 2007, she remembers thinking that it was very run down then. She also said the receptionist told them there was a lift, but it was at the back of the hotel. I'm guessing that a totally inappropriate building will replace it. I assume from the number of vlogs on You Tube yesterday, there must have been quite a line of people with cameras filming the Ambassador, though you still seem to be the only one posting every day, and are still the best.

Stayed there with a coach party for 3 years running in 1988 -90. Great food at that time and had entertainment in bar area. Some rooms were ensuite but others not although more were planned to be. Seemed a busy hotel then but Blackpool like many seaside resorts does not attract so many people for holidays nowadays. As it was in dangerous state, best that it is demolished. But what will replace it and President Hotel I wonder.

Great to see new development in Blackpool, I still think they should be allowed to build a super casino, to bring in jobs and taxes to the locality

I used two for this video. A DJI Osmo Pocket and a Nikon D850 for the time lapses.

The scaffolding would be scrap now anyway, it couldn't be used on a job , they can claim it as a loss , the building was and has been an eyesore for years, serious lack of investment by the landlord has let it fall into the state it is in , and now they will have to bear the costs of taking it down , should be made to rebuild it in it original state , I dont know about the Penthouse, looked like a sh t house for years

I wonder what the hell that container was for on the roof. You can see it better on the drone footage.

It seems like the building was abandoned and with no maintenance and no protection from the elements, this was inevitable. Water penetration and high winds have done their worst.
