IANAL, but it's pretty obvious to me that defending a bad client, who works so hard to parse phrases and lie constructively, is damned near impossible. Amber created this situation. The lawyer has almost NO recourse because Amber's prior testimony fucked everything up royally. The problem with this whole "Amber's lying constantly so she's excused because she's trying to defend a liar" thing is this. Anyone who pays attention to what you can and can't ask can start to guess if she's asking something thats hearsay, leading, no foundation, or (and even worse, recently) would break attorney client privileges. You can try to work with nothing, but it doesn't excuse you very clearly and repetitively breaking rules that you are well aware of. If she's the top in her field, it's because she's dealing with people that allow her to do things that are very clearly against the rules. If you listen to Camille, she's slowly getting very irritated. Why? You ever watch someone in your profession thats done the job likely longer than you've been alive, who is one of the top lawyers in her field, consistently and purposely disregard the rules even to the extent they're asking questions that they KNOW you can not legally answer (attorney/client privileges)? Yeah. That's Elaine right now.

Rottenborn is an excellent trial lawyer but had nothing to work with. His closing argument was, under the circumstances, very clever. His problem was his client.
@m.w.976 Жыл бұрын
@@kaymarham5486 *I kinda agree BUT calling his closing argument "clever" is VERY debatable. From the onset, it went from 'first amendment free speech' to his client being physically abused to his client claiming heinous sexual assault (the first AND ONLY in Depp's 59 years on earth). Rottenborn's closing went from claiming physical abuse to just..... his client being "verbally abused". He could no longer stand on his client's 2 photos (in 5 years with Depp) of herself because they were proven to be fake.The problem was that Rottenborn didn't vet his client. Period!.* *Had Rottenborn vetted his client, and actually paid attention to the 'discovery',, he would've seen what the jurors and the world saw - that Heard was a chronic liar. I have a feeling and based on how the defence started cross examination that Amber gave them false information and they had something at the beggining but it all came down as the trial went on because they realised they had no facts to back Amber out. She failed them imo.

The trial in UK was fine. It was a case of libel. Amber Heard was not the defendant, she was a witness in someone else's lawsuit. All the defendant had to prove was that they had reason to believe what they printed was true. Depp knew he wouldn't win, he only brought the case about so that his story would be"heard". US laws are very similar. Where the psychopathic Heard messed-up was by putting her own name on the article that was published. He could then bring about the same case but she could not claim "I had reason to believe it be true" because she was involved in the story and therefore KNEW whether it was true or not. @@pucamisc

As leading as it gets. Let's say the prosecutor says to the victim of a crime to point out the perpetrator. And they're unable to identify the assailant, because he's dressed in a suit or dress. The prosecutor calls to approach the bench. Next thing you know the judge instructions are for the defendant to stand up, then the witness simply points to "you" and you know you're innocent. This is the American justice system. Believe me it's a ponzi scheme.

@Sloane Slaughter I don’t know about that. My mom is white and dad is Dominican. My mom mispronounces names left and right, including many Hispanic names, despite getting corrected. She tries but eventually reverts to her initial pronunciation, and it’s totally innocent. It’s annoying and embarrassing as hell to me, as someone who speaks Spanish, to hear her pronouncing things like that lol. This lawyer is awful but I wouldn’t assume this is some sort of underhanded, deliberate racial attack.

@@Stephen0Stevie0 I was speaking from the perspective of an uneducated juror. It would occur to me that an attorney knows what leading questions are and questions that call for speculation.
