Keep in mind that they argued this motion without the jury present. They don't have to make the same argument in front of the judge that they are making in front of the jury.

As a former victim of DV, I can tell that she is not a victim of DV. What she doesn’t realize is that the primary emotion that we deal with as victims, is SHAME. That is why these relationships are so hard to face up to and get out of. Amber performs how she IMAGINS a victim would feel, hurt and broken, but we tend to downplay rather than exadurate, and we tend to be much more distanced and short in descriptions because the mind doesn’t want to go there, yet Amber includes details like how dirty the carpet was. It tells me that she, as an actor, is imagining the scenario and is trying to put herself in that place, but that she has never actually experienced it. Also, it is EXTREMELY difficult for for the victim to look at the abuser, yet Amber stared Johnny down during his testimony, whilst he doesn’t even look up at her once.

re-watching this after the verdict.... it's funny how she has no idea how she's coming across. it's like she has no self awareness. when she's asked about her career and life, she has this look in her eyes of magic, fun, story telling and it's not really the vibe ANY victim would have, even as the subject is still on the lighter side. they are still sitting right in from of their abuser and knowing which questions are to come so already from the jump, i feel like she lost me. because she immediately gives off this vibe that does not match the situation. then she cues her fake non tears and it all goes to the pooper. I am so beyond relieved that the jury had the same gut reaction as me and most of us. i was so worried. alas there is still justice in this world.
@katiegriffin75972 жыл бұрын
I agree, especially when you say it’s not how any victim would act. A lot of people are saying not all victims are the same and you don’t know how they will act, and I also believe that is true. However, while it’s impossible to determine how any victim WILL act, it’s also possible to say how any victim WON’T act. Every victim of DV and/or SA is different but no one who has gone through this should look as excited as she is to be up there.

It’s actually cringey ! And so overacted . She is a user and an opportunistic Gold digger ! She saw JD as a drunken addict who was overly generous and loved a good piece of tail and she acted the entire time they were together- after all , she is a total lesbian . What could she possibly see in Johnny other than the shining gold , platinum and diamonds reflecting back at her … this is just such bad acting it’s funny if it weren’t so deplorable.

I wanna clarify first that I am 100% on JD’s side. I wanted to say that this isn’t actually as impactful of an observation as you may think. When someone has PTSD, their brain will force harsh memories out of their brain to cope with them. When on trial, it’s hard to command your brain to recover them. I am someone with PTSD and an active court case. I agree though that she’s 100% lying, just keep in mind struggling to remember recent events closer to a traumatic event doesn’t automatically mean guilty!

She was 22 when they met and there were very few women on the planet who exceeded her beauty. For most the first requirement for a relationship, appearance, especially men. From what I've read and listened to, she seems sincere in her attempts to have him quit the drugs and alcohol. Certainly, that would indicate concern for his mental and physical health. And she allowed herself to become subservient to his desires. She acquiesced frequently. These are a number of reasons for a man to love a woman. Had he quit the drugs and booze there is a good chance they'd still be married. Unless they tired of each other which often happens in a marriage.

When Johnny testified, he was so honest, he talked about BOTH of their wrong doings.. He would way "WE would argue back and forth", "WE would start arguing".. He talked about his drug use, bad words, everything.. But she completely painted herself as an innocent damsel in destress.. Totally contradicting the recordings we heard.. She didn't even TRY to make her story sound consistent with the tapes.. And she claims that she was the one to walk away and he would go after her?!.. She even went as far as to claim that she saved him many times.. So she is not only a victim, but also a HERO... Throughout the entire trial Johnny never looked at Amber.. Throughout the entire 14 days. Even today, he would only laugh and smirk at her lies... HOWEVER, he only looked at her ONCE! At the very end of her testimony today.. When she mentioned his daughter Lilly Rose who was "crying and afraid of her father"... Johnny's entire demeanor changed.. and for the first time I saw him genuinely angry.. He was fuming and he looked up at her for a good 2 seconds.. After that he was doing a lot of self pacifying motions while staring blankly near her... He just looked so angry that she brought his daughter into her lies...
