Amber, from the channel Dr Dray here on YT (board certified dermatologist) I learned that there can be allergens in fresh leaves (aloe vera), that get purified out when it is processed into a gel, so it is hypoallergic when you buy it, but not when cut fresh from the plant; be careful on the skin especially. On hair, it really doesn't matter. :) Just FYI!

My holy grail products are Shea Moisture Manuka Honey and Marufa oil Intensive Hydration Leave-in Milk and Shea Moisture Intensive Hydration Masque. My hair loves it so much. It keeps my hair so moisturized so well. I have low porosity, low density hair and these products help so much with growth and don’t weigh my hair down. To strengthen my hair my holy grail products are the Shea Moisture Deep Treatment mask or the Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor oil Strengthen and Restore Treatment Masque. With these products, I went from a shaved bald head to past shoulder length hair in a year and a half. I dust my ends every 3 months and only straighten my hair twice a year when I do a proper trim.

My hair is fairly straight and grows about 1.5" a month. I use a castor oil/carrier oil 50/50 to regrow hair that I've lost. I also add rosemary it sometimes. The rosemary mimics Rogaine properties. Castor oil stimulates new growth. When I use it as a hair mask overnight twice a week, my hair growth doubles. As for shampoo/conditioner, I use Wen haircare. This beats everything. My hair is healthy and does not get any split ends. I only have to trim my ends about two inches a year and have not had one split end in over 10 years.

Amber your hair looks nice and healthy and I'm glad you finally found products that work for you. My only problem is that I feel that less is more! In this day and age we spend way too much money on all these natural hair products. I'm old school, our mothers only used 3 products in our hair (shampoo, conditioning & bergamot/blue magic grease) straighten our hair. And our hair was thick and healthy and strong. I buy all my essential oils (7 of them) and my hair is the healthiest its ever been in years. I have sooo many useless over priced hair products that I don't care to use anymore. Good luck on your beautiful healthy hair journey sweetheart!

What works for me is blowing out my hair all the time because it tangles less, I noticed that when my hair is cold it will tangle fast. So I keep my hair warm in a bonnet with my ends curled around rollers for a glamorous result + preventing knots. I wash my hair every 15 to 20 days depends, and i rarely manipulate straight hair I don’t even brush it until wash day where I coat it with oil to make the slip easier.

1. Im not sure if people can get this because it's a salon brand but Sébastien Twisted line is AMAZING. I haven't tried the shampoo (bought some online the other day), but have been using the conditioner and mask for about 1.5 months and they have done wonders to my hair. 2. Camille Rose Aloe Whipped Butter Gel. 3. Camille Rose Curl Lover Moisture Milk. Makes ever single curl on my hair pop without me doing anything!!!! I can now literally do a wash and go (aka wash my hair and go). Curls define them selves and stay there. No styling or gel needed 👏🏾👍🏾. I use other products but these are the mains. For an oil to seal Im using melanin...not really a fan, but trying to use up the bottle. P.S - not sure of my hair type, but im guessing around 4a/4b...medium density...my stands are medium in thickness...low porosity 😁. Hope this helps.

If you have low porosity hair I would highly recommend using shampoos with mint or tea tree in them as well as using warm water to open those hair follicles and clean those hair pores to speed up hair growth. As for the conditioner side anything that promotes moisture on the bottle. Moisture is key with low porosity. LCO (liquid, cream, oil) method is the one lady’s 💛
