I just started a Nonprofit governmental Organization and I'm looking forward to use this NGO to educate and change the Lives of the people in my community especially children and single mothers for the best. What made me to start up an NGO, My Mom was a single mother and growing up with her, I watched her struggled till she passed away back in June,2022. Growing up in such a situation, I know they are plenty of me and my mom out there.... The NGO just want to make lives worth living for children and single mothers. Already, God has blessed us with a school and majority of The kids and Pupils pay low or no tuition. It just gladdens my heart to see people smile and believe they too can be of help to another. It's a typical village where people depend on farming which has been a failure for the past two years due to prolonged drought and effects of cyclone Fred that hit the land last year. It's so bad seeing children crying for food. Spending days without proper food. Eating Nyika(bitter tubers that grow naturally in water, they are very bitter) I work for an organization called Solomon Swartfager Hope Foundation, Founded by an American fellow, Mr Joe Swartfager. Depends - the IRS won't consider your donations tax deductible unless you have tax exempt status (like 501c3). You also need to be incorporated in your state. If you are not, you may be personal liable to pay taxes on any donations coming in because it could be viewed as personal income.

In many cases you can start a project and do a drive or fundraiser for a cause you are working with without having to start a separate NGO. My first step would be to see if there's already an existing NGO in your area you could partner with!
