Thanks for making this comparison, fun to watch. Up until recently I had a Ryzen 3 1200, its Cinebench score was 628 when OC'd to 4 GHz. Pretty impressive that even the smallest Ryzen can beat a stock FX-8350.

If you have a hard winter and want to do some gaming on your heater - the FX 9590 is the best you can get. If you want to give your old Plattform some final upgrade because you have no money to buy something like Ryzen (like me) the FX 8320/8350 would be a good deal. I have a FX 6300 € 4,2 Ghz.

100% agree, now i'm spending more money to do a custom watercooling setup, i already had 90% the gear so it wasn't a loss but its now mandatory for the 9590 else you can hear all the fans running at 100%

i wouldn't bother now, i'm starting to have problems using fx cpu's on newer games. sell your mobo and cpu, get an i5 3470 and a cheap 1155 mobo. then you can upgrade it to an I7 3770 OR 3770K later on. trust me, i used to love these fx chips in budget builds but they're starting to have problems.

Yeah they still perform well if you run a good gpu you can run most games. that's why i haven't good to ryzen yet

Got the 8350 new for $65 usd on newegg. The price shot up to $200 right after. I also had all the hardware already and its working out well for me at the moment.

So I have had a 9590 for years with a good liquid cooler. I have been in a constant battle to figure out why my computer with run fine for weeks then randomly hard lock up, in this video you pretty much answered my question, it's the damn chip. I'm replacing it soon anyway. Thanks for the insight.

From the best of my knowledge, so i could be wrong about this, but they are labelled 8 cores 6 cores 4 cores ect due to having that many physical cores , but they act as threads due to the physical cores sharing resources as pairs.

omg, i use a desk fan here too, ahahhaha. I just had to lay dow to case because i put a heatsink in every possible phase or vrm in my board and some of those dont glued so well. But just in the summer. The lay dow setup help me pu 2 80 mm collers between the northbrige and the gpu, so i can cool it better. i have a crappy am3+ board, 760g

Haha, yes the fan is a little over the top and loud, but i cant run much without it. and the room temp is about 15d Celsius at the moment for winter. i may need to do something custom for my VRM as well, they get super hot when im working the CPU.

Hey Mate, Sorry for the confusion, the CPU was a FX-8320, i said the wrong one, but you can see in the cinabench test results it is a 8320. when KZbin unlock the feature to overlay fixes in videos i will update it.

I have the fx-9590 and it runs really good with a 240mm Aio radiator. The highest temperature it reaches on full load 68c and on idle mid-30s. When I first had this chip it always locked up my computer everything was frozen for about 3 to 5 minutes couldn't figure it out in the beginning and after running a few tests every time the cpu was on full load hitting the 5.1mhz Turbo it would lock up so I turned off turbo boost and I never had a problem ever again.

I just gave up on the system and started by selling the memory. I got a 9590 from cyber power with a 600w powersupply and liquid cooling. worked well for over a year then started to boot differently and freeze, slowly I couldent play games or do anything and I gave up. still have psu and mb looking to sell

I have the FX 9590 and yours scores slightly higher than mine. I get an even 700 but I did get it in 2013 when they were released. I am running 32 GBs of DDR3 2400 and a R9 Fury X. It still does well in gaming and I actually prefer it over my Threadripper 1950X/RX Vega 64 LC rig mainly because the FX loads my games faster.

I didn’t try game loading speeds but when I change I would probably be going for a full build next maybe the 2990wx when it comes down in price a little. Although every time I buy a max spec system it get superseded 1 month later with a new socket. Lol

What’s the rest of your system? And what are you doing with it. Have a look on eBay and see what you can find second hand. You might get a bargain on the 8320 and the 8350. But have a think about if you want to just save up and replace the lot (MB,CPU,RAM) with newer generation or if you just want to change the cpu, I’m still using the same chip set and 32gb ram. And most games run good.

Nice video. My personal computer's have all been AMD builds. My current setup is as follow's - Thermal Take Mid-Tower Case ; PSU is the Seasonic Priime 650w Fully Modular 80+ Titanium ; MB is the Gigabyte 990FX-Gaming ; CPU is the FX-9590 ; Cpu Cooler is the Corsair H100i GTX ; Ram is 32gb of Crucial DDR3 at 1866 ( 4 X 8 ) Modules ; GPU is the MSI Radeon RX-580 Gaming X 8gb ; Storage is the 1tb Samsung 970 Evo NVME M.2 - with the Corsair H100i GTX temps are around 65 C at the high end. I will probably use this set-up for at least another 2 years ; unless i get alot of extra money - LoL. OS is Win 10 Pro X64.

Hello. The 970 Evo was probably one of the best purchase's i made for my computer. Even though the AM3+ platform only has PCIE 2 ; a PCIE 3 gen 3 x 4 nvme m.2 is still 3 x to 3 and half times as fast as Sata III could ever dream of being.

Right now on Amazon - these are the current Prices for the various sizes ; the 250 gb model is $87.99 - the 500 gb model is $147.99 - the 1tb model is $297.99 - the 2 tb model is $577.99. Back in june the 1 tb model was selling for $397.99 it was still a good purchase at that price. Get the Acronis True Image software to clone your current drive to the 970 .

Hey, not really. I would suggest getting and fx8370 or 8350 and run decent cooling and overclock it, if you see my community post (and spoiler alert, video that will come out soon) the size of the radiator I’m using for the 9590 is massive, and it can still warm a room up trying to dissipate the heat. Start thinking about what’s next though, because these systems are ok still but any money you spend on the fx series can’t be used down the track. I don’t know what you are using the pc for but gpu upgrade is also a good place to look at spending your money if you’re trying to get your games running better

@@ScottyDIY i am just trying to get 60fps on bf1 but on 64 player maps i sometimes get FPS drops because of the full CPU usage,evden whrn i am using it on 4.3 with overclock on some psrts od the map it's working on 48 FPS or less,it happrns very rarely but affects the gamrplay.i will graduate after 2.5 years so i don't want to spend too much on oem's.if i make an homemade water cooling system with a var radiator (i have technician friends) and overclock mu fx6300 to 4.7 or 4.8 GHz can it give a good performance until i graduate?sorry i wrote a lot :D

it may help and would probably be cheaper, but i dont know enough about hardware needs for bf1, if the water cooling is cheap and you can reuse it later or parts when you upgrade your system its worth a go

@@ScottyDIY I had a under powered and possible overheated 9590 it started to boot weird and freeze alot and I just kept dealing with it until it got to the point of freezing during startup or 2-3 min after windows launched.

That’s strange. First what cpu are you replacing it with and have you tried disconnecting the cmos battery with power disconnected for 5min then putting it back in and turning power on.

Going from 2 modules/4threads to 4 modules/8 threads WILL be a huge difference, especially since modern games support all these cores/threads. That is, if you want to stay on the platform for a little longer. Watch a few other videos where games are compared with these CPUs.

Depending how much you have to spend. If you can’t upgrade the whole system(new motherboard). I would go for the fx8320/8350. Assuming also you have no bottlenecks with memory or gpu.

Sounds good. What games do you play. No need to go overkill and get something over the top. I was using a HD7970 for ages only would struggle on higher graphic games. But even now I have 2x R9290 but I don’t even use them much as I’m playing games that don’t require as much graphics power. Do you know what games you might play?

I only bought the 9590 and the 4000 I had from years ago. the rest I got given when I bought over 30 gpus and Watercooling parts and since I looked I guess prices have probably gone down as well as supply and demand. Although is saying that Prices in Australia tend to have a little more mark up in my opinion.

I posted this on a similar review.. These FX CPU's WERE LEGENDARY 10 Years ago THE GREATEST CPU'S EVER MADE ACTUALLY. Intel had fake reviewers bash them shame them put them down and terrible performers and AMD was a lye and all fake hype when actually the FX CPU was far advanced than INTEL EVER WAS !! WAY WAY BETTER! THE FX LINE HAD FUTURE PROOF TECH IN IT TO LAST 10 years later and beyond with the new Video cards released. (10 years ago actually the Video cards and drivers sucked back them for performance not the FX CPU'S) I BOUGHT SO MANY INTEL in the past and let me tell you way over hyped and basically way slower than AMD. So now I only buy AMD ... Intel for all the crap you sold me I spent enough business for you and all you were was shit slow nothing special hardware I am done with you Y.O.U suck..INTEL. Once you go RYZEN you'll never go back to Intel
