I am really liking the New Dell XPS 13, and especially its 4K UHD Display. It is simply stunning. There are some drawbacks such as lack of USB A ports and a full sized SD card slot, replaced with a microSD card slot. Let me know what you think?

You can just buy a bunch of those little USB-C adaptors and stick then on all USB devices. Not a problem at all.

Great review, but you should really report battery life in HH:MM. No one thinks in minutes beyond 2 hours, and converting 6 different results mid-video isn't ideal...

Just bought the 13 9360 fully spec'd out since it's not cheaper at under $1000. Very happy with it. Would have gotten the 1080p model but I prefer a glass screen compared to matte. Used to have the xps 13 2 in 1 which wasn't the best because of the Y processor. Hoping to keep this laptop for a very very long time

How does the sound compare to a MacBook or previous XPS? I've had an Air for a while and ordered an XPS 15 a couple years back which I returned for numerous reasons one being that the sound was awful compared to the Mac and sound is just as important as the display.

Does the xps 13 9370 have an much better display than the mbp 13' ? For media consumption the xps 13 seems a lot better with the 16:9 4k display but I think the speaker and the build quality of the mbp are better... I wait for the next mbp 13 release with quadcore cpu I think.

Can you explain how you're getting 7+ hrs in battery life, because I'm getting 4-5hrs (XPS 13 9370, i7 16gb, 1080p), 50% brightness, Battery saver, latest updates, no gaming, plus whatever else I could think of to increase battery life. I use my use my music production for about an hour's time, but other than that basic web surfing shenanigans.....love the content!

Curious about the new Dell Cinema screen optimisation and whether you get 4K HDR options in the Netflix app. Also how is it app upscaling 720p and 1080p videos on the 4K screen? Btw, do you think that its 4K display beats the current Macbook Pro's Retina display? is it sharper, crispier, showing more colors, deeper black and brighter white than the Retina does? well . . When you see that the LG Gram 2018 was able to limit bezels, but put the webcam at the top of the display...you start to wonder what Dell was doing. Removing all USB-A ports wasn't a good idea because again, we are not in a Type C only world yet and manufactures need to consider that. This was a great review. I'd only add doing multiple Cinebench R15 runs and some type of stress test. But still, thorough.

The fans do kick in under heavy load, not particularly loud but you can hear them. For the most part the fans will not kick in under normal use.

Nice review! Personally I find the new Samsung Notebook 9 superior in almost everything (except TB3). I hope you can review it. It's lighter (1kg), thinner and still has full USB and HDMI ports. It has a 50% larger battery and the display, while only full hd, is stunning IMO... I have the 2017 version and it's better than the one on my surface pro 3, which is already great. Also, very important for me, it charges with any power bank / charger. Does the type C port on the Dell charges with phone chargers / small power banks?

My fear is that after 2 years this battery will not last as long as the begging. I have a Dell XPS 13 from early 2015 and, after exactly two years the battery does not last more than 7 hours so I think I would go with the the late 2017 version in FHD, as I intend to keep the laptop for ay least 3 years.

The battery will most likely replaceable. I did that to my aging Asus UX32VD.. Try not to use fastcharge if not needed. Thankfully external batteries have also become a feasible solution.. Yes, FHD (especially non-touch) will use less battery.
