CBD oil is amazing for TMJ and any joint pain actually. I practice correct tongue posture, with tongue at roof of the mouth, relaxed jaw, teeth not touching which helps to relax my jaw. And mouth tape at night. I also use my Gua Sha and Facial reflexology tool to massage the area and do TMJ exercises and masseter massages that feel so yum. With teeth grinding - do a parasite cleanse! All the above fixed my TMJ, I get occasional flare ups but this settles it. Also, don't chew gum!xx

Amelia, I’m so sorry to hear you are experiencing TMJ pain and discomfort❤! What has helped me so much is getting acupuncture for TMJ; jaw and shoulder accu seems to help so much… even my face shape changed from my jaw muscles reducing in size. Also, taking magnesium before bed helps so much… and I’m very seriously considering getting Botox to help with my nighttime grinding/ TMJ. My coworker’s bestie had to get the most wild surgery to fix her jaw and I will do anything to prevent mine getting even worse than it already is. I’m 32 now but have been grinding and clenching my teeth at night ever since I was a little girl; like age 8 or 9. Sending soothing healing vibes your way❤❤❤

I have TMJ too. Mine has settled but if I eat hard foods or yawn widely, my jaw will click and ache. So I am careful. I was told by my dentist to wear a mouth guard as that will help with grinding your teeth in the night. U could try that.❤
@melissaann9765Ай бұрын
I specialize in TMJ treatment in the United States. You should get a night guard to protect your teeth and act as a cushion so you don’t put so much pressure on your Tmj joint. That’s an easy quick fix. Botox is fine but doesn’t last long in that area due to all of the movement though out the day/ night. Hope that helps

Hello lovely. I have the same problem. It’s due to stress grinding your teeth in your sleep so you wake up with a painful jaw. Please go to your dentist and ask for a mouth guard. Bit like a retainer. You wear it at night. Hope this helps. There are exercises for your jaw pain. X😊

Hi! For TMJ treatment, I would recommend going to physio! They could do some soft tissue releases, give you exercises to help the area either stabilize or move better (depending on what's needed) and can make recommendations for splinting if needed!

I have TMJ Disorder and have had for 6 years now. Constant pain in my neck/jaw/mouth/ears. I have had Physiotherapy, acupuncture, masseter Botox, weekly massages, chiropractic treatment and wear a mouth guard at night and nothing has fixed it. It is a stress related condition which can be made worse by jaw clenching. Jaw clenching can be worse at night if you sleep on your side clenching a toy (according to the CBT specialist I saw!). If I were you I would go and see your dentist, get a mouth guard and see a physio. Don’t leave it as long as I did (I was misdiagnosed by my Doctor and didn’t have treatment for the first 5 years!) and hopefully you’ll get it under control ASAP.

As a fellow TMJ lady, you should talk to your dentist about a bite guard or bite splint to sleep in at night. It really helps with clenching. Additionally, the brand Therabody has a device called the Theraface that’s amazing for treating those tight muscles. Make sure you get the hot & cold additions!

I got TMJ after an operation but it was already there apparently as I grind my teeth at night - but I couldn't eat solid food for 3 months. It basically gets inflamed and will eventually go down but does rear its ugly head from time to time - mine does it when I get stressed and its incredibly painful. Plus it can happen with colds and flu and affects it - whole sinus issue. I have you to thank for the SIBO flags and loads of other things - so don't worry Amelia we're all with you on the health journey - sometimes it all sucks hahaha but you're not alone!!!!

I have TMJD, and masseter Botox is the only thing that gives me relief. I use a nightguard, but that only helps save my teeth from grinding down. I still clench at night, and the nightguard doesn't help with the pain. After 5 years, I only need it about every 6 months. I was worried because some people said it would give you jowls, but I haven't noticed anything - my face has slimmed over time. Hope this helps!

I suffered from TMJ for a long time and struggled to eat as I could hardly open my mouth and certainly wouldn’t have been able to get a mouth guard in, and Botox wasn’t even mentioned to me. However, I started doing jaw relaxation exercises which did help. If it happened now I would certainly try Botox for speedier results - hope works for you❤.

No need for Botox. I save that for my forehead and crow’s feet.😂 When I travel I have a bear. My mom gave it to me in 1992. The bear has been around the world and back, several times. I say good night and cuddle with it every evening. I’m in my 50s.

I’ve had TMJ for three years darling! Started one day with jaw pain that never went away! It’s getting better now slowly, however it can come and go throughout life. You can get Botox for the jaw to relax the muscle. You can wear a mouth guard and it helps! Mine is because I clench my teeth at night..
@yarat3952Ай бұрын
If you get a night guard PLEASE make sure it's the small one that sits on your bottom front teeth. It physically makes it impossible to clench. The guards that some dentists prescribe that cover your entire teeth wont prevent the clenching and pain! They just prevent your teeth from wearing down. In some cases they can make you clench your jaw even more!

TMJ has always been linked to stress for me. Id take a look at your life and see where you may need adjustment. Maybe Duke is still subconsciously weighing on you, especially since the house is empty when you come home still. Losing a pet is terrible, but I’ve always found that getting another one has really helped heal my heart.
