America is still touring! One of my favorite bands of the 70s, is playing at the San Antonio Tobin Center February 2019... & we will be there.

Hope you enjoyed it. (It's funny: Neither you, the band nor the rest of the crowd realized you were all still living in a beautiful, pre-pandemic golden age. Hopefully we'll return to [somewhat] normal before too long.)

He does something vocally at 1:36 that is not in the studio recording when he sings "about me". He goes up a bit on the second about me. This is what makes live performances better, in my opinion. Subtle little things like this really show how creative good musicians are.

also when he sings "i'd laugh the hours away", that's fantastic

It modulates to different keys in the dreamiest of ways. Genius songwriting. And of course the words fit so well with the melodies. That's usually the hardest thing to accomplish, I've heard.

Looks like Gerry was married I don't know how he kept the girls off of him. I myself cannot believe how adorable he was Let me go back in time and have a chance. Ha Ha That aside America is a true talent and I am so glad to have rediscovered them.

We used to laugh we used to cry we used to bow our heads then wonder why but now you're gone i guess i'll carry on and make the best of what you've left to me left to me, left to me I need you like the flower needs the rain you know, i need you guess i'll start it all again you know, i need you like the winter needs the spring you know i need you i need you And every day i'd laugh the hours away just knowing you were thinking of me then it came that i was put to blame for every story told about me about me, about me I need you like the flower needs the rain you know, i need you guess i'll start it all again you know, i need you like the winter needs the spring you know i need you i need you, i need you

This band could do no wrong in the 70s 80s even made a hit of "Muskrat Love" which is the only song by them that I ever changed the channel when it came on. Great band and great times.

@SethraLavode99 No I went to the Lancaster Pa show. I was staying at the same hotel as they were. I was so excited to meet them. I was like a starstruck teen. They were both very nice and still boyishly adorable. I am going to see them again in June at Penns Peak in Pa

Marsha just out of curiosity why would he sing a song about a tough breakup and regretting his decision about breaking up with you... Just saying. Theres a lot more to this song then "I need you" Awkward...
