That is what The Matrix is all about. George is akin to Morpheus. When you realized how fucked the system is and you get the meaning of "a prison, for your mind", when you see the fields of humans (suburbs, classrooms, office towers) being kept enslaved to provide energy (work), kept in a [american] dream, an indoctrination system called the Matrix, ..., when you then decide to become an independent, critical-thinking, question asking individual, you become unplugged from that industrialized control. And if you try to destroy that horrible prison by playing the game (politics, business, education, etc.), you get swallowed up by sheer power, and the fact that "most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.". And if you try it using means outside of the game, you are then rebels, criminals, enemy of the state, terrorists, ... . Truly worth a rewatch or 10 to understand that that trilogy is not set in the future, it is set now. We are in the Matrix. It does have to do with computer and simulation but only on a lower level. On a higher level, it is a story about realizing that we are slaves, and fighting to restore freedom and sovereignty to ourselves. (I know I try to put out too much information in so few words)

I have seen George live 4 times from the late 70s to late 90s. I have always considered him more like Samuel Clemens. Much more than a comedian . But a brutally honest observer of the human experience. Unafraid to point out its pitfalls and faults. Yes we all laugh but laughing at what Ourselves. Nothing wrong with that. Better to laugh than cry. Because of him as I have aged I no longer vote I do not watch the "news" fuck newspapers. What I do now is treat all others that are around me and those I meet throughout the day as I wish to be treated. I say the greeting of the day to everyone. I judge no one . 99% of the time I get that back. Proof to me that there is alot of good in humanity. I continue to watch and listen to George from all of the material he has left us with. In that respect we still have him with us. Thankfully. Samuel Clemens also in the written sense. Two of the really mist intelligent observers of our existence.

I remember first coming across George’s monologues in high school. My English teacher showed us some of his stand ups and we were all shocked. I’m 25 now and I’ve listened hard and done my research and George was spot on! We got a bunch of dumb people, especially in today’s society. Feminists, vegans, BLM, social media “influencers”, and far-right and left wingers are some of the worst. They all claim to have good intentions yet their faults and pitfalls far outweigh their intentions. I don’t like how everything has to come down to money and more and more of these freeloaders want everything handed to them. My Dad taught me that the sooner you learn to deal with the world being messed up, the easier it will be for you to navigate through it. I’ve paid attention and have kept some things in my mind as to what not to do because I want to be a good example as to how humans are supposed to be and not like the top 1% who screws everybody. While minimum wage hasn't been raised in years, CEOs and upper echelon managers pay has increased, I believe, over 300% in the last 10-15 years. Now for some reason, the pandemic is an excuse to stop the EPA and Trump has decreed that corporations are free to pollute at any level without fear of fines now or in the future. They don't even have to track or report their levels of pollution, so this sudden burst of clean air cities all over have been experiencing because there is so much less traffic, well expect the pollution to come roaring back. Although I still don't understand what the hell a virus has to do with corporations being able to report pollution levels. One last thing for anyone who has bothered to read my rant (sorry my bad) this far, well two more things need to be addressed. First, you folks who think protesting for your rights, your freedom to go back to work in unsafe conditions to make more profits for big business, you people are a little late. You lost most of your freedoms already, over the last 39-40 years, your freedom has been being limited and your corporations and police to enforce for them have gotten more rights. Mitch McConnell made it very clear that next stimulus better have protection for businesses from you. They want to remove your right to sue your job for forcing you to work in unsafe conditions. At the same time, McConnell doesn't want any protections for employees like requiring businesses to provide safe conditions. They have no incentive to provide masks, space out work stations, they are required to do nothing for more money and more tax breaks. You on the other hand, you better go back to work whether it's safe or not or you will lose the right to unemployment. Now tell me, please, do you honestly think those republicans are looking out for you? Vote them out! Yes, democrats are in on the scam too, but not quite to the extent of republicans yet. There is no great economy or these corporations wouldn't have needed bailouts after a couple of weeks. It was falsely inflated by businesses buying back their own stocks with their profits. Biden sucks, I get that, but there is a big difference between Biden and Trump especially regarding climate change and getting back at least a few of the regulations preventing corporations from polluting our air, land, and water hopelessly and shamelessly. I remember when Carlin was on Keith Olbermann's show and Carlin began by telling Keith that his show was the best and smartest show on TV and added that he never missed it.
