Im afraid that many Bible believing Christian men have been emasculated by passive teachings! Turn the other cheek, let yourself be defrauted in court, love your enemy, etc! Applied in all situations not seeking out why and when, such teachings are obvious madness!

He likes black coffee that many people think taste like sh!+, by itself. I knew plenty of guys in the military, who even in the field, while sitting in the dirt, making MRE instant coffee, would add sugar or sweetener. But by all means, let's hear how drinking something you don't like, out of peer pressure, or perceived social obligation, makes you more manly. A real life lesson would be, to be your own man, or person. Drink what you like, regardless of what a celebrity tells you is proper.

Phil is 100% correct. The truly manly men are slowly disappearing from society. The men that are masculine are talked down to and called "toxic". Its a scary world we live in. I was raised that men are manly. They are providers and protectors. They take care of their wife and family. I am very blessed to have married such a man. My high school sweetheart. He works so hard for our family and I appreciate him every single day
@filrabat1965
@filrabat1965 2 жыл бұрын
It's not the strength, grit, decisiveness, athleticism, taking charge, etc., that's toxic; it's the very arrogant attitude that it's OK to demean males who are "unmasculine" (i.e. lack 'social dominance' traits, basically kicking ass, charisma, power, etc). It's essentially saying that if a man doesn't meet society's expectations of "maninless" he deserves whatever shitting on he gets. That attitdue's doesn't lead to any kind of real, sustainable improvement in mens' lives, as it insults their individuality. If it's wrong to look down on "unfeminine" women, then it's also wrong to degrade "unmasculine" men.

@@Bvofarm "Survival of the fittest" (aka Social Darwinism) is a bullshit idea from a 19th century philosopher Herbert Spencer. He twisted Darwin's words to give a bogus "justification" for cruelty and lack of compassion. What Spencer clearly did not see is throwing the weak under the bus also throws their talent under the bus. That cripples economic and scientific development. (see J Wes Ulm's "What Darwin Did Not Mean" for details). In any case the survival rules for 2023 are vastly different from 12,023 BC. Our physical environment is radically different. At best, traditional ways of sizing up human (esp male) worth are fit for a Stone Age wilderness. Using them in the Digital Age puts society on the fast track to Third World status. Also, contempt for weakness is just your animalistic brainstem confusing Inability to stop a bad thing with Being glad that bad thing occurred. That is so incoherent that I can't see how any rational person can find this attitude sane. It would all legal distinctions (and moral ones) between murder and manslaughter. Again, that's a misguided, even primitive, approach to dealing with wrongful acts by others.

Man, no one is scared of a black cup of coffee, and how you drink your coffee has no bearing on your "manliness". That comes from how you accept responsibility, duty and morality. The British soldiers who colonized the world before the 20th century used to drink tea with sugar, and they lived in much harsher and more adventurous conditions than any of us.
@Heuwelman
@Heuwelman 3 жыл бұрын
I agree with you, but you get +1 "manliness" by drinking black coffee, because at first it is bitter and unenjoyable and a struggle to enjoy but later you get a taste for it, going through discomfort to reap the rewards at the end basically, also in war time there can be no sugar or milk and therefor you would need to have the "manliness" to drink black coffee, that being said I drink my coffee with milk and sugar :)
