Just curious how come the first thing you do when starting your video is asking for a sub. It’s kind of weird because as a new person to the channel, why would I sub right away when you haven’t shown us anything. LoL. PewDiePie made a video a few years ago on how be a better KZbinr and grow your channel. He even mentions that. He said remind people at the end of the video after they watched it. That could be the reason why you have the views without the subs. Plus it’s 2024, it’s safe to assume people know what do with videos they like. His video had a lot of good tips. I’m not content creator, but now look at the things he mentions. Anyway, good video. If the algorithm brings me back to your channel, I’ll give you another view. 👀

I wish I could have went with you. I worked at Fort Rapids from 2011 to 2013 In the arcade and also the concession stand in the water park . I also swam there on my days off because I got a discount for working there so I could have given you some info on the place. Anyway it was sad to see the place go under like it did. Thanks for the video I was curious to see what it looked like inside now.

Used to go here every year with my youth group. I remember the last time I went, the Chlorine was so strong my eyes burned sitting there. By the next day I was sick, fever, and it lasted over a week. It was always such a fun event for us, but I’m not surprised after our last trip we took there. I’m surprised it’s still standing after the water pipes burst a few years ago. So many were hopeful the right owners would get it and restore it ! It’s sad to see its current state!! It has so much potential! Thank you for exploring here! This is only the 2nd video I’ve found off fort rapids since closing!!

@ yes!! The lifeguards were even getting sick! It was winter when the water lines burst, and it made the outside of the building was a thick ice! Last month the hotel caught fire, they decided it was a total loss, the water park wasn’t affected by it though. Thank you for posting this video, and responding! Love your videos! They’ve really helped me cope with my journey of finding my brain tumor and my current battle with brain cancer ❤️

After stepping on that fat chunk of glass I'd be pretty iffy and nervous to go down that slide. Unless you got the glass stuck at some point earlier in the day. This is one of my favorites as far as exploring, abandoned resorts / indoor waterparks. I'm glad to see it still in pretty good condition overall and hardly any type of vandalism or graffiti - which surprises me honestly for being Columbus. Either way this was a great video! Can't wait to see Josh's when it comes out.

They were shut down for several reasons, from health concerns, to fire hazards… it had just been purchased by yet another owners shortly before the health dept and police showed up and made them evacuate the guests immediately and close. The most recent owners (as far as I know the current owners) there were talks of an inpatient mental health hospital or apartment complex, and the people surrounding fort rapids were fighting it due to not wanting a place like that close to them. It’s really sad, this place had so much potential too.

My partner overheard your excitement of the game cube type controller and started geeking out. 🤣 He said that there was a span of time that resorts like this had built in plug and play games that could be purchased sort of like pay per view movies. You could rent or request the controller from the front desks to play the games. He remembers them from when we were kids (early 2000's). We're from the central Ohio area, his family used to travel quite a bit.
