If I remember correctly a key consideration for Singapore Airways flying to Houston was connecting with Continental and eventually United. Same reason they went to Newark for a bit.

Hearing wizzair is in financial ruin. Keen to see your thoughts on this. Also, curious to know where to post questions you read out

Fellow public school kid here. Re: the whiteboard topic, I experienced something similar but with scissors. There was an old coffee can with metal scissors, some sharper than others. Naturally everyone wanted those. I’m a Lefty, so I actually had to use one of only two pairs of dull, grimy scissors 😝

A big market for the Emirates route from Stansted is Cambridge and its very wealthy and international population. Heathrow is a long way away from Cambridge whereas Stansted is one stop away on the CrossCountry train.

Emirates fly to Stansted as they can’t get any further slots at Heathrow and there is such a strong market between the two cities. Essex and north London also a big market.

The political and economic situation in China right now is very tense. I think BA was smart to suspend services for a year.

United Airlines for an external perspective seems to just fly random widebody routes sometimes. I think the problem is they have too many widebodies now but no deliveries until 2028. So they need to hold on. Also seems like they are just waiting for Russian airspace to open again

Do you think it’s worth trying to get airline status if you always fly business of first?

About the separate tickets thing, I’ve had that happen to me. Lufthansa lost my luggage for 3 weeks and I had a united flight from Newark to ohare on a separate ticket, but they shipped it to my home free of charge which is 3 hours from Chicago and 16 hours drive from Newark, which is technically the only obligation Lufthansa or United had.

I like the content once they start talking about aviation, but I wish they would cut the endless chit-chat about their childhoods at the beginning.

When it comes to one world your luggage will be forwarded to your final destination, even if it’s on a separate ticket And even send it on other airlines outside of the alliance. One world, alliance members are also obligated to file claims on behalf of other airlines within the alliance. I am an employee of your favorite airline to hate on lol also, Iberia is in the one world alliance, and they coach share with American all the time 😂
