Biggest mistake was call them Indians and they were super offended (which was weird TO ME cause they look Indian), they prefer the term Mauritian. Beautiful island packed with honeymooners

My main problem with the census in Australia is they'll only let you list up to 5 nationalities when it comes to my decent. They usually only want to know where the majority of your ancestry comes from. So with me it's usually Irish, Scottish, English, Finnish and Russian. When I'm also German, Hungarian, French, Mongolian and Chinese. Although I can kind of understand it due to limited space of each person. I'm not the only Aussie with such a long list of mixed decent.

My parents are Mauritian. Nick is sort of right...the French/Africans were the first ones to truly be "Mauritian" as a settled population. My ancestors were taken there as indentured servants from India in the 1800s, around the time the Chinese started settling there too. It's an island of diverse backgrounds. Anyone in Mauritius is Mauritian regardless of where their ancestors came from

You got that right and did not called it Hurricanes, is part of of living in that part of the world and mostly it's not that bad.. That's why most of the houses are built with bricks . So can be quite fun when you are inside and the wind is going wild outside! You will never understand that feeling!

The beach access thing .. It’d actually fully accessible to the public by law nobody can own the beach and sea However people would naturally be hesitant or wouldn’t go to the beaches where hotels are implemented … Honestly you wouldn’t like to go to a hotel and have the beach full of people picnicking playing ball games etc…. But Mauritian now do enjoy the hotels as well on vacation or weekends there are packages for Mauritian offered
