Hey Nice video🥰 For more context : Gambia and Senegal are basically the same country/ppl. Gambian just are anglophones but they share the same dishes, "tribes", culture as senegalese (Francophones). Jollof rice is actually from Senegal "wolof jollof kingdom" so yes they do have the jollof (the original one lmao) its called thieboudienne (the national dish recently recognized by the unesco) but its not the exactly cooked the same as nigerians,ghanaians let's just say their one derived from it. Senegalese have very good dishes and are known for their cuisine. Christians and Muslims get along their celebrate each festivities, they usually have good relationship. Main spots to visit are : Goree Island (where the slaves were held and deported) the lac Rose, monument of renaissance and many more. These type of videos are good but they are very brief/short so you cant have a lot of informations about countries Excuse my english its not my first language. I love y'all videos keep going😉

Yeeeeeeeees, I was born and raised in Senegal, and seeing the videos just took me back 😀🇸🇳 I am of Cape Verdean descent, and my parents immigrated to Dakar in the 50s, it was still a French colony back then. Most Cape verdeans are Catholics, and you also have a massive community of Lebanese that settled in Senegal during the Lebanese Civil War (1975 to 1990). It resulted in an exodus of almost one million people from Lebanon, and some landed in Senegal (Christians and Muslims). To your question, Senegalese are very tolerant, and there are no clashes between religions. I grew up attending a nun catholic school and listening to the call of the Muezzin calling worshipers for the daily prayer. To summon worshippers, the Jews use a trumpet, Christians use a bell, but Muslims use the human voice. In Senegal, 95 per cent of Muslims belong to the Sufi Brotherhood, more than any other Muslim population in the world. For Sufis, peace and tolerance are essential values, and spirituality and closeness to God are more critical than dogmas and strict adherence to religious rules. Senegal has never experienced an attack in this age of international terror. The West African country is regarded as an anchor of stability. Senegal is known as the "Land of Teraanga." This Wolof word is loosely translated as hospitality, but It’s much more complex than that. It’s a way of life. It's a uniquely Senegalese combination of generosity, hospitality and sharing that permeates daily life. The minute you set foot in a community or a house, you'll be invited to drink tea (attaya) and share food. The statue you mentioned earlier is The African Renaissance Monument; it was built to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the country's independence from France. It is the tallest statue in Africa (52 m). It created a huge controversy, but I'll let you research that. I am going to shut up now and wish you a great day. I will end by saying that...The Tiep bou diene (rice with fish) is unmatched! Real Wolof spelling - ceebu jën (for English-speaking peeps, pronounce tche boo djen - pronounce the "e" like the 'e' in men). I have tried many "Jolof rices" from other African nations, and I enjoyed them, but....cee bu jen is King. This video made my day; I now live in Portugal, so seeing the landscape brought back lovely memories and a warm fuzzy feeling in my heart. My parents still live there so I'll be visiting soon. About the religion, Senegal never had religious problems. Muslims and Christians live together without any problem and they celebrate each other feasts. For example, the 1st president of the country was a christian and he was backed by the Muslim leaders. It’s a really stable and democratic country without any war or coup in his history

Definitely visit Goree Island, prepare to cry. Senegal is a gorgeous country full of beautiful people but just like every country in the world, guard your belongings. Dakar is the same as Paris, there are thieves and crooks everywhere. I hope people will go and visit Senegal and experience its beauty.

To answer your question, Senegal is 90% muslim but yet they elected a catholic as their first President, that should give you an idea of the level of tolerance there, moreover, Africans are never known to push their beliefs or culture onto anyone, people who picked on African beliefs/culture usually do it by their own choice.

Senegalese are very polite, calm, collected and thoughtful. They are very organized people as well. Though Senegal does not any of the natural resources found in most of Africa, they have one of the best performing economies in the region due to their value of education and from investment and manufacturing. - I am not a Senegalese

In Kenya, a vast majority of people are Christians then Muslims then Hindus qnd others. We live well and respect each others religion. When Christians have their holiday it becomes q holiday to the entire nation and people don't go to work. Same to Muslims and hindu holidays

Africans identify with their African identity first before religion so in most cases Africans don't really discriminate someone for having different religious beliefs because religion to Africans is flexible, even the Islam and Christianity practiced in Africa has an African twist meaning Africans incorporate their African world views and beliefs in the religions, so to answer your question it's hard to be discriminated against in most parts of Africa because of religious beliefs, that may happen in North African countries that consider themselves Arab but even they are quite liberal in their religion compared to middle easterners, for example in middle eastern countries it's mandatory for women to cover their heads with a hijab but north African women can go without it, middle eastern countries follow strict Islamic sharia laws but you can find alcohol and tolerance of other religions in North Africa, but Somalia is an exception they follow the strict Islam and you might need to adjust to fit in the strictness, somalia is also the most homogeneous country in Africa and is almost 100% Muslim and Somali ethnic group, but overall Africans are not that discriminatory to opposing beliefs
