Andddd this will do it for the Hanoi series! Was so much fun and really had a blast! Happy I had more time in Hanoi so I was able to really make some videos! Thank you to everybody who has been with me and watched. Also I decided to drop this video today just because it was a special day to me with reaching 50,000 family members! That being said, we went a little different today with trying some more exotic foods! If you like seeing the exotic foods then please let me know so in the comments! As always... Much love, Max

Great content as always. I love that you always pay so much respect for the food and the culture, and dare to eat whatever the locals do. That’s what food travel/vlog should be.

Chao long brings me back to the new year day of 2011 when I happened to meet an American friend in Saigon. I did not know why I introduced him to this dish which seems to be quite exotic to foreigners because of many pig organs in it. We spent the evening together exploring the city. It was a memorable experience to me. Unfortunately, I lost his contact. Watching you trying chao long reminds me of him. Thank you and wish you all the best.

One tip for you to eat almost type of north Cháo: after adding chili and peper powder, mix it up once. Then you use spoon to scoop around and around. Dont put spoon to scoop center of the bowl and mix it up too much time. That tip will make your Cháo keep heat longer, solid, smooth and not turn into liquid Sorry for my English

Our local Cambodian market sells Hột Vịt Lộn (Poong Tie Khon) and I wanted to try them for months but they only came in 10 packs, and I wasn't quite ready to commit to 10 of them! Finally got together with some friends the other night and tried them, following instructions by the Cambodian owner. Boiled a bit longer than yours (yolk completely cooked through), and had it with lime juice, salt and pepper, and Vietnamese coriander. It was amazingly good. Honestly in terms of taste, the herb was the oddest, but it worked so well with the egg. I had some extras and tried the tamarind sauce version too. It was good, but the sauce tasted more like it would go well with grilled meat - distinctly barbecue-sauce-like. I liked the lime and pepper better, and I'll definitely get them again.

The typical way to eat it is dipped in salt, black pepper, and Vietnamese coriander. Maybe a bit of lime juice. But you probably should have tried this in Saigon with the tamarind sauce. That one looks the most appetizing of all the ones I've seen out there (I don't eat it but have seen lots of videos on it). Also, it also looks as if they needed to cook it more.

Thanks ! Max , Balut ( fertilized duck egg ) -egg is a also a local delicacies , the local eating way is to pill off the shell slowly when it is still cooked hot by the finger snails - the egg by itself is a no- no completed set - ; but with the beautiful mixed combination of the black pepper and salt must be considered with the Vietnamese mints when you eat them . The local people , our people normally they have 2-3 eggs during the wet seasons . Good Luck !
