I played this with a couple of my friends at our school performance and honestly I'm amazed so many people liked it. It had been one of my favorite songs for well over a year and we'd all (me(guitarist) our other 2 guitarists, our bassist and our drummer) had been trying to convince our teacher to let us perform for about 3 months until they finally gave in and let us play a few weeks ago and now we've playing every event since. I know this was a long post but I just wanted to share my experience with this song and just how much it impacted my life

I don't quite understand exactly why old Japanese art style has been associated with the American West, but it definitely looks cool anyway. 2 years later, weird that this comment actually didn't age poorly considering I was not even 14 at the time. Thanks for going easy on young me.
@Davidsonmathmap6 жыл бұрын
There are a lot of commonalities between American westerns and Japanese ronin stories - both generally involve drifter types rolling into town and fighting outlaws, etc... These similarities inspire people to blend the two. Take a quick look at the TV tropes page for Samurai Cowboy for a decent short explanation. And/or look into Akira Kurosawa - who modeled some samurai films after american westerns and in turn, had several of his storylines/movies remade into westerns.
@sevenproxies42556 жыл бұрын
Because the Ronin is essentially the same kind of character as "The man with no name" from all the Spaghetti Westerns. One single man, extremely competent with his weapon and his wits showing up in a new town and upsetting the established order through martial prowess.
@crystalalarm36 жыл бұрын
Not to mention duels had a lot of similarities between gunfighters and the quickdraw style of sword fighting which is popular in ronin stories.
@Never_heart6 жыл бұрын
And on top of the theumatic similarities I think this might be art of the game Red Steel 2. A Tarantino style cross of western and samurai action flick.
@kydiddya6 жыл бұрын
During western expansion, there were actually many Japanese immigrants who came over for work. They mostly helped build railroads and mine. Much like how african culture merged with southern culture, a similar thing can be seen with a "western style."
