American Gospel: Spirit & Fire (Trailer 1)

A massive theological movement has been sweeping through the Church in recent decades. Millions of professing Christians around the world believe that God is restoring the lost offices of apostle and prophet to church government. They claim these restored apostles and prophets are needed to usher in a global end times revival by delivering new revelations and performing great signs and wonders. This modern apostolic and prophetic paradigm has been called the “New Apostolic Reformation.” Though there is some debate over that label (NAR), the core issues place a demand on all Christians to respond to these claims of authority. Has Christ Himself sent these new apostles and prophets to His Church?
“American Gospel: Spirit & Fire” will compare and contrast the true person and work of the Holy Spirit with the manifestations and prophetic revelations attributed to Him by leaders in the modern apostolic and prophetic movement.

Michael Brown speaks out of both sides of his mouth, truly wicked. I did the Bethel BSSM school in Melbourne Australia in 2016. Under the leadership of Ben Fitzgerald. I had 3 years of oppressive demonic experiences and was shocked by the goings on in this false Church. ( Fire Church) . I was delivered in August 2019. One night and l thank God. The next day l saw Lindsay Davis interview with Doreen Virtue. I have since repented and am thankful to Jesus for setting me free. All kinds of perverse behaviours in leadership and totally unrepentant abuse of the flock. I totally know it is an Anti Christ agenda.to confuse and discredit Christ and his Church.

@@richardm23 l sent my email however it has been removed. I would definitely like to share my experiences with Ben Fitzgerald, Daniel Hagen and there cover up of sexual misconduct. It says a lot about them. I gave information to a pastor at thier apostate church about serious behaviours. That pastor left and never followed it up. When a demonic spirit gets hold through false doctrine , other behaviours are prevelant. Ben Fitzgerald and Matthew Montgomery were caught in sexualised behaviours with young vunerable women at a Fire church conference in 2017. The humble man was dismissed by Daniel Hagen. Earlier that year a porn addicted serial sex abuser moved into my home a senior man and leader at Fire Church. I had recently returned to Australia from years working in child protection in London. I was broken beyond belief and righteousness anger at the situation.

Contrary to what many critics say, I think there is a baby in the bath water. It can be seen throughout the Bible that God uses people and movements that on the surface could be deemed to be wholly evil. King David was not merely an adulterer and murderer in the Bathsheba/Uriah affair. He was an amoral, power hungry, sex-addicted warlord who committed treason and mass murder on multiple occasions, including wiping out the line of his predecessor (2 Samuel 21). However, his pious devotion to the worship of Yahweh earned him the title of “a man after Yahweh’s own heart”, and without the dynasty that he founded, Israel would never have seen its Messiah. Right now, the NAR seems to be the most influential force growing in the global evangelical church, and appears to be the one thing that could be more persuasive in people’s minds than the rising tide of post-modern nihilism. Like it or not, the church of the future will not be the Reformed/fundamentalist Christianity of the “good old days”, but the Charismatic Liberationism of the Global South.

NAR/Charismania is just that -- a delusionary false teaching that when followers are redeemed or corrected, leave that for the one true Faith (Jude 3). There is but one Faith yet many false faiths. There will be no mingling as history has proven any mingling with the truth produces falsehood.

And if you carefully read the account in 2 Samuel 21:1-14, you will see that David is trying to rectify a situation that King Saul did towards the Gibeonites (Saul killed some of them in defiance to a treaty Israel made with back in Joshua 9:3-27). What Saul did brought a famine from the Lord to Israel and David found this out when he asked the Lord in 2 Samuel 21:1. King David knew there had to make right King Saul's past injustice. David asked the Gibeonites what he could do and the Gibeonites asked for "seven men of his sons." (2 Samuel 21:3-6) After David agreed to this request and the Gibeonites were satisfied, if you read all the way to 2 Samuel 21:14, God restored the land that he brought the famine to because of Saul's actions. When you read the things David did, many of them were done in line with his duties as a King in a theocracy. In the case of Bathsheba (2 Samuel 11), he faced punishment and correction from the Lord (2 Samuel 12) but he also repented of it (read Psalm 51). To compare the actions or even the sins of King David to the blatant false teaching of Bethel "church" and the NAR is a serious case of rotten apples and oranges. Just because something is influential doesn't mean it is Biblically correct. Many false teachers will have a large following, which is the reason you read 2 Timothy 4:3-4 and 2 Peter 2, as well as numerous other verses in the scriptures. The true church will always stand by the truth of God's Word, sound teaching, and godly living over emotionalism, fake signs and wonders, and unbiblical teaching. So, yes, you may see many churches follow the way of the NAR, but unless they repent of their foolishness (and believe the Lord truly in faith), the followers of that movement will die and hear Jesus say to them, "...I never knew you, depart from me, ye that work iniquity (Matthew 7:23)."

Oh man…your clip brought me to tears. I just can’t help but sob about the unimaginable horrors I caused while in this movement myself. I was introduced to NAR teachers, their teachings, and their practice while attending a Discipleship Training School with Youth with a Mission (YWAM). Jesus made a lot of divisive statements. When his mom and brothers came to persuade him to come home and be a good boy, he said "who are my mother and brothers? Those who do the will of God." When he talked of the Pharisees and Sadducees he claimed that the Pharisees sit in the seat of Moses, thus chosing one sect as authoritative not both. When he talked to the woman at the well, he told her "the Jews worship what they know, you Samaritans worship what you do not know. Salvation is of the Jews." Well these statements are divisive, let alone the gospel itself which divides the sheep from the goats.

This and videos like them are 100% misleading trying to say because someone believes in the gifts they are, as I quote John MacArthur, a "charismatic pretender." These guys aren't preaching a different Gospel. You both agree on the fundamentals of salvation. You're really just disagreeing on what gifts/acts God does today, does God prosper, how does God speak, etc. etc. . This is a SIDE issue. Your conviction to elevate a side issue to the level of salvation should be the biggest red flag and I don't see how your followers don't see it. If you're talking about something being unBiblical, how can you find what YOU are doing in scripture? This is unbilical. Sure, if you have a soundbite of a pastor from a disagreement, sure you can disagree civilily face-to-face, or as a sidebar, or debate (which is a small part of what you have here) but to make it your life's work to fight other ministries because you have different theological education on a. SIDE issue? I just don't see that ANYWHERE. Show me the scripture where Jesus says make it your life's primary ministry to tear down other ministries? The NT authors didn't spend all their time breaking down other ministries, they just said their peace and tought what was right. Sure Jesus did small bursts of correction, some letters had correction (to people they loved and spend time with by the way in a PRIVATE LETTER to specifically who it pertained to) but that's it, they didn't make it their livelihood. Thank God Michael Brown will have a least a few soundbite in this, but you've all already made your mind up. 90% of people reading this will dismiss me and people like Dr. Brown because God hasn't revealed these things to them. I used to be the same way. I anticipate many people digging in their heels in the ground, finding the same bible verses they always argue against Charasmatics with and proceed to make their argument to divide divide divide... I'm also not saying everyone has perfect theology, we are all learning. We can ALL post the Bible verses that defend our point, and we can all be partially right, but remember, the PHARISEES knew the scripture more than ANYONE and when God moved in a way they didn't expect, what happened? Despite knowing the Bible so well they didn't JUST miss Him... they rejected Him. We got to have humility. You don't have to agree or practice what these guys teach-- but hear my heart, I don't think movies like this or ministries like yours is at all what Jesus desires for our church. The spirit fell at pentecost, not because they had perfect theology, but because they were in unity. This is some of the most divisive stuff out there. May the Lord correct any of these guys who are off... and correct me when I am off... and may the Lord have mercy on you too and bring about proper unity so we can get past all this "American Gospel" stuff. Help us all be humble and stop pointing fingers. Forgive me Father as I continue to navigate this life and love you more every day. Let me never close my eyes to what You might be doing. Let me never miss You because of my doctrine. Let me not cause division. I speak against the spirit of division trying to confuse, condemn and alienate your church members. Let it simply Spurr my brothers to humility and love. Let us find beauty in diversity and let them not feel condemnation for incorrect actions, but conviction to be better. Let us all grow and become better, let's all learn from You and one another and be in true unity when you return. Amen.

The Spoiling of Principalities and Powers Not only did the death of Jesus bring results in the human sphere, it also brought results in the angelic sphere, especially the fallen angelic or demonic sphere. The death of the Messiah meant the spoiling of principalities and powers. This is brought out in several ways, for example, Jesus said in John 12:31: now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. According to this verse, the death of Jesus accomplished two things: first, the judgment of this world; and secondly the casting out of the prince of this world as well. Later Jesus spoke these words in John 16:11 of judgment because the prince of this world has been judged. The death of Jesus meant a judgment of Satan individually; it resulted in the judgment of Satan personally. Not only was Satan judged, but also his entire demonic cohort according to Colossians 2:14-15 having blotted out the bond written in ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us: and he has taken it out of the way, nailing it to the cross; having despoiled the principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

As a Pentecostal who is concerned about abuses and false doctrine, I think the unflinching insistence on using the term NAR is counterproductive to addressing the real issues with hyper charismaticism. That bogs the dialogue down and is generally unhelpful. If you were to walk into a Pentecostal church and use the term NAR, most people would not have any clue what you were talking about. However, if we take some practices and square them up against Scripture, now we may get somewhere. I think these movies are great but I think in order to make real inroads, stop using terms that people in these assemblies don't use themselves. Looking forward to this overall.

I think there's a lot of perfectly acceptable terms than many Christians should know but don't, or basic theological items that they should be able to explain but can't. Many Christians struggle with explaining the gospel so it's not really a legit thing to say that it's not present in the church if no one knows what it is. I'm glad my church is balanced with the approach to the power of the Holy Spirit because so many churches either deny that God has power or that he can do something or they're barking like dogs and playing with demons and don't realize it. It's a dangerous world! Gotta be careful and trust in Christ.

Michael Brown is a good guy. There are undoubtedly dangerous excesses in the charismatic movement and the NAR is dangerous and deceptive but the Spirit is always at work and the gifts will always be evident in the church. People just need to test which spirit is at work

I know it's on Amazon prime to rent for 3.99 I think. At one time it was on Netflix but not sure if it still is. Also there is an American Gospel web page you can visit.
