Sarah Paulson said the gray sweater she wears this episode was intentional to show that Ally truly isnt afraid anymore, even wearing a sweater with “holes”. referencing back to the coral thing she was bothered by in Dr Vincent’s office

Jim Jones was a real cult leader who lead the Peoples Temple. He had his believers drink kool-aid laced with cyanide. That's where the term "drink the kool-aid" comes from. Heavens Gate was also a real cult and, yes, that was real footage. I'm giving away my age, but I remember it being all over the news when I was a kid. They "drank the kool-aid" so to speak.
@johnj4471Күн бұрын

@@riskey yeah. I was young when it happened but I recall, much like people don’t get how anyone would join the cult here, some seemingly stable intelligent people got caught up in heaven’s gate and it was sad hearing the families confused and distraught

Just starting the video and it's amazing to me that we now have entire generations that have never heard of Heaven's Gate or these other real life cults. Not anything negative, it just actually dawned on me as soon as you started reacting. I definitely expected someone to try and recruit me into some crazy cult at some point after hearing about some of these stories 😂😅
@LylaRose99Күн бұрын
So true! "Don't drink the kool-aid" became such a common phrase and so many don't even know the origin (I'm from Australia so this isn't specific to the US either)
@Dan-hh1kpКүн бұрын
The heaven’s gate cult was actually real 😭
@elizabethstrong6057Күн бұрын
It seems so weird to me that even as they abandoned the cult, they don't seem bothered by or have remorse for the murders they committed. Also somewhat disappointed that Ally sacrificed Vince, but i guess she thought it was the only way.

The Veil, with Jessica Alba and Lily Rabe, is a great cult movie you should watch. I think it's related to that story Kai told at the beginning of this episode.
@riskeyКүн бұрын
We would frequently ride past Jim Jones' cult headquarters on the 38 Geary bus in San Francisco. After the mass suicide in Guyana, someone on the bus would always nudge their companion saying, "there it is... the People's Temple." The Loma Prieta earthquake in '89 damaged the former synagogue which was then torn down and a USPS office put in its place. I wouldn't want to sort mail there late at night.

I'm not advocating murder either, but I wouldn't convict. And that switch w/the pics...absolutely genius. I didn't dislike Ally in the beginning but I I thought she was weak. Then she started to grow a pair. She could've given up at any time but she wasn't going anywhere w/o her son. So as scary as that was for her she had to stuff that way down & do what she had to. Now, I have so much respect for her...she's a f**kin' rock star🤯

I’m pretty sure that police officers can’t help you if you’re in a different state. So if the scene takes place in Seattle, only the Seattle Police Department could help. OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT-
