This episode makes my stomach turn. Its so gross, but more than that, it builds the fear from the moment a single drop falls before even the party, so you're sitting there stressing all episode
@justinehercthehuman2 ай бұрын
This whole show has like a Final Destination charm where you know who are gonna die but you don't know how they die, and their deaths can sometimes be ridiculously gory but it's campy that way and oh this show is so much more artistic. That whole final scene also reminded me of Stranger Things tho haha, Vecna in his mind lair.

💀💀💀I love how this series is Flanagan's love letter to all things Edgar Allen Poe, he doesn't make it book cannon so much as interweaves most of the elements of the stories into a tapestry...and there's so many easter eggs throughout, both visually and literally.
@Quzga2 ай бұрын
Haven't been this excited for a reaction binge since succession! Hope Eric does more.
@charmedoriginal59232 ай бұрын
Eric, Aaron, and Melanie, while the first episode's title consists of a phrase from the first line of Poe's poem "The Raven", the last episode bears the poem's title. The other episodes have the same titles as the following short stories by Poe: "The Masque of the Red Death", "The Murders in the Rue Morgue", "The Black Cat", "The Tell-Tale Heart", "The Gold-Bug", and "The Pit and the Pendulum".
@keeganbate8935Ай бұрын
There are many many references to other Poe works too throughout, like The Premature Burial and a whole novel written about the Pym character Mark Hamill plays.

After you watch each episode look at the Edgar Allen Poe poem or short story with the same title and see the reason for some of the plot choices.

I love this show so damn much. Flanagan shows always get so much better on the second episode, after all the set up. idk how to say this without coming off as an ass and I realize this sounds like gatekeeping gore but it's a tv show lol, none of it is real. There are irl videos out there that you would never scrub from your brain, those are nausea inducing. Weird flex attempt, and I would never suggest following the rabbit holes, but if fictional gore is upsetting you then you probably shouldn't be talking about your "VERY HIGH tolerance"
