It takes a lot time as well as bit of traveling experience to truly learn them all, which not many Americans get. Even I couldn't point out where each state is on a map, nor could I list them straight from memory, but I can recognize all of them when I hear or read any of them. I think most Americans are similar.

Yes, Americans are shit with geography, especially on the global scale, but lemme make one tangent: The USA is a HUGE nation. I see so many Europeans (and even Americans) talk down on Americans for not "travelling the world."
