American meets Serbians for the first time in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. A weeks ago a follower of mine by the name os Dusčan reached out to me and told me that when I arrived he would love to show me around, so I couldn't say no! In this video you will meet Dusčan and all of us together will learn about Serbian culture, Serbian food, and Serbian history all while having a great time doing it! Serbia is an amazing country and after being here for about two weeks, I've realized that this place might be home to some of the nicest people that I've ever met! Serbians are so hospitable and extremely out going making anyone that comes here to visit fall in love instantly! I hope you enjoy this beautiful walk through the streets of Belgrade as we learn about Serbian culture together! This is Serbia!

Better translation for "slava" is "celebration". It is a very old, probably neolithic custom, adopted by Christianity.

The facts as they are... Macedonia, but not the ancient Macedonia of Alexander The Great, in its original is a region of Bulgaria with the predominant population of Slavic people, described themselves only as Bulgarians from Macedonian region! For more info: Encyclopedia Britannica 📖. Reminder: Bulgaria consists of three regions - Moesia, Thrace and Macedonia, represented by three golden lions, united on the coat of arms of the country. 👑 ☦️🦁🦁🦁🇧🇬 Aegean Macedonia was "gifted" to Greece in 1913, and Vardar Macedonia to Serbia in the same year. The heart of Macedonia - Pirin Macedonia remained in the motherland Bulgaria! Reminder: Pirin Mountain is depicted on the first coat of arms of the Republic of Macedonia, which is another proof of the true origin of the Yugo-Macedonians 🇲🇰! Everything else said is an absolute lie, and can be easily proof with facts! Македония и България ВЕЧНИ! ☦️🦁🇧🇬 End of story!

Reminder: North-Macedonians are Bulgarians lived in Yugoslavia and who became Macedonians only to stop being beaten and killed by the Sebs. Линк: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l57GhIOfrbmNe6s PS: God created them Bulgarians, Tito made them Macedonians! Only the truth makes us FREE! ☦️🦁🇧🇬

The history of Bulgaria and the present Republic of North Macedonia is common history not until 1944, but until 1951. There are CIA archives that give very accurate answers to many questions related to the Macedonian Question! In these archives, it is very clearly described how in 1949-50 the Macedonian communists themselves tried to leave Yugoslavia and join Bulgaria, but this was not allowed by the elite in Yugoslavia, headed by the pardons at that time by the Bulgarian Tsar Boris ||| for treason against the fatherland and also the right hand of dictator Tito - Lazar Kolishevski. Born with his Bulgarian name Lazar Kolishev, this traitor to his family roots and homeland is an active participant in the dispersal of a number of prominent Macedonian Bulgarians - intellectuals, including Venko Markovski, a sharp critic of the methods used to build the Macedonian nation in the Socialist Republic of Macedonia. We must also mention the fact that by order of Lazar Kolishevski, about 200,000 Bulgarians who opposed Tito were sent to camps, as 20,000 of them were killed without trial or sentence. The purpose of these measures is to erase the traces of Bulgarian self-consciousness and to accelerate the process of Macedonianization of the population of Vardar Macedonia - a primordial Bulgarian land, occupied by Serbia in 1912 and remained in its composition after the Balkan Wars and the First World War. PS: God created them Bulgarians, Tito made them Macedonians! Only the truth makes us FREE! ☦️🦁🇧🇬

They explained slava well, a lot of Serbian ppl don't even know how to explain it well haha. But also, it's important to say that slava is a very very old tradition. Before christianity, in our native, pagan faith, every family or vilage(or tribe) had certain God as a protector. They would make big celebration in his/her name. When christianity came, people didn't want to stop their belifes and way of life, so the church decided that the best way to make people take christianity is to mix their ways into christianity. So, instead of Gods, they would celebrate saints. Almost every big celebration here like slavas, Christmas eve( when we light big fire in front of every hous and in front of church) is taking its roots in our old traditions. Just a fact 😊 your videos are amazing, you have beautiful energy! Thank you for showing my country and people 💜

@@Travelwithchris That was a false origin explanation of slava, slavas were introduced during the ottoman turk era because Serbians were prohibited from going to churches so they made their own religious celebration in order to hide from the turks while not abandoning their religion.

For those who don't understand "slava", it commemorates the day the family, so many centuries ago converted to Christianity.... for example my family converted on a date that was closest to St. Michael archangel day, so by default St. Micheal's day is the date of my slava.... At this date who ever comes to your door even if it is your greatest enemy it is your duty to make sure he drinks, eats and feels safe....

As a Serbian American, I can clarify the genesis of Slava. The observance of the family Patron Saint Feast Day developed among the Serbian people when the Slavic missionaries Saints Cyril and Methodius (9th Century) brought the Christian faith to them. The Christian missionaries repaced the pagan custom of the household divinity with a family patron saint. The feast day on which a family was baptized into the faith was adopted as their Patron Feast day or "Krsna Slava". It is annually celebrated as a reaffirmation of the family's Christianity. For Serbs, it is a major celebration as each family welcomes its neighbors and friends into their house. The food, drinks, and parties at some slavas can be legendary. A family patron saint is passed on down from father to son(s) that can be traced back centuries for some families.

The facts as they are... The Bulgarian coat of arms symbolizes the great motto inscribed on the facade of the Bulgarian Parliament: ☦️Unity Makes Strength!🦁🇧🇬 A slogan who symbolized the unity of the three golden lions 🦁🦁🦁 who representing the regions from which the Bulgarian state was built since 681: Moesia, Thrace and Macedonia, always together and united on a golden shield under one golden 👑 crown of motherland Bulgaria. In Bulgaria, people have a very popular expression about Macedonian region of which the present Republic of North Macedonia was part before 1913: "Macedonia is our big love and pain!" We have so many great Bulgarian heroes who have died for Macedonia's freedom. We have many folklore songs we sing to honour our beautiful Macedonia. Link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6LUl5qaa8mKqKc TIP: To be a Slavic Macedonian or Bulgarian is exactly the same, as to be on two sides of a coin! PS: A part of Macedonia is in the EU, thanks to Bulgaria.... We call them - The lucky Ones! The rest we call - The brainwashed Bulgarians from North Macedonia or the Yugo-Macedonians. They are still out of EU, thanks to the Brainwashing... So sad, but true! 🔪СВОБОДА ИЛИ СМЪРТЬ🔫

Genocide over the Bulgarians in Vardar Macedonia ... During Tito's time, many Bulgarians in Vardar Macedonia were subjected to unprecedented repression in order to renounce their national identity! The truth about the thousands of tragic fates is contained in the files of the sinister UDBA, The Yugoslav Secret Intelligence Service and the Secret Police. The Bulgarian from Prilep, Temelko Neshkov, spent 12 years in the prisons of Tito's Yugoslavia, only because he proudly and fearlessly defended his national identity against the forced Macedonianization in the former Yugoslavia. Two years after Neshkov's death, his autobiographical book "No Separation: Macedonia Against Macedonianism" was published in Bulgaria, as well as the undestroyed part of his dossier in the Skopje UDBA, published under the title "Dossier - Yugoslavia against the Soul of Macedonia". Reminder: A true nation and state called Macedonia never existed before 1944! This is an artificially created entity, whose main goal is to undermine the Bulgarian identity and belonging of the local population and to pursue only the interests of the Serbs in Tito's Yugoslavia! PS: Only by telling the whole truth out loud and without fear, we do have the right to one day tell ourselves and others that we have lived in honesty, integrity and have been truly free!

The facts as they are... Encyclopædia Britannica 📖: "Krste Petkov Misirkov (Bulgarian: Кръстьо Петков Мисирков; Macedonian: Крсте Петков Мисирков) was an Eastern South Slavic philologist, journalist, historian and ethnographer. He was born on 18 November 1874 in Postol, Salonica Vilayet, Ottoman Empire (today Pella, Greece) and died on 26 July 1926 (aged 51) in Sofia, Kingdom of Bulgaria. He is Bulgarian in origin, but also possessed Ottoman and Russian citizenship. In the period between 1903 and 1907 Krste Petkov Misirkov published a book and a scientific magazine in which he affirmed the existence of a Macedonian national identity separate from other Balkan nations, and attempted to codify a Standard Macedonian language based on the central Western Macedonian dialects. A survey conducted in the Republic of Macedonia (now North Macedonia) found Misirkov to be "the most significant Macedonian of the 20th century". For his efforts to codify a standard Macedonian language, he is often considered "the founder/father of the modern Macedonian literary language". However, in 1907 he began publishing predominantly articles, written from a Bulgarian nationalist perspective. During the First World War he became a member of the local parliament in Bessarabia (present-day Moldova and Ukraine) as a representative of the Bulgarian minority there. Misirkov reverted to Macedonian nationalism for a short in 1919. During the 1920s his views changed again, and he encouraged the Macedonian Slavs to adopt a Bulgarian national identity. Because Misirkov expressed conflicting views about the national identity of the Macedonians Slavs at different points in his life, his national affiliation and legacy remains a matter of dispute between Bulgaria and North Macedonia. "About the Macedonian Matters” is a book by Kraste Misirkov, published in 1903 in Sofia. The book discusses the idea of separating the Macedonian Slavs into a nationality separate from the Bulgarian, and the extent to which this separation is ethnographically, historically and linguistically justified. The book is remarkable on the one hand with the introduction of the new idea of ethnic Macedonian separatism and thus, that it was one of the first books written in the Macedonian (central) dialect, and on the other - by offering a non-standard but close and detailed look at an extremely dynamic period in the history of Bulgaria and the Balkans." Reminder: In his personal diary, found after his death, Kraste Misirkov defined himself only as a Bulgarian! General conclusion: In propaganda lacks true sources and records. It was created in the Socialist Republic of Macedonia as a mega extensive process, which would be named later by the other non-Yugoslav states as “Brainwashing”. ⚠️After all these indisputable facts, to be saying that there is a Macedonian people, language and culture is absolute nonsense, ignorance and idiocy! For more information always read official and worldwide recognised sources only! Thank God we're here and don't sleep. The truth must prevail!

The facts as they are... Vardarska Banovina is the Serbian name of Vardar Macedonia/West Macedonia! Vardar Macedonia - This is the original name of the West Part of the Region of Macedonia, received its new name "North Macedonia" after Prespa Agreement with Greece reached on 12 June 2018. We must mention the fact that а country with name Macedonia never existed before 1944! This was only a geographical area that has always been part of the Bulgarian state with few exceptions and some external interference. For this reason, the whole of the so-called "Macedonian History" is mostly intertwined with Bulgarian facts, heroes, symbols, folklore and events! Reminder: "Macedonian" - This has always been only a term for geographical affiliation, which grew into a nationality during the Tito regime, so that the Bulgarians in the former Yugoslavia could be more easily separated from their roots and homeland as some fake "Macedonians", but meaning which should no longer mean a term describing Bulgarians from Macedonian region. Only the truth makes us FREE! ☦️🦁🇧🇬
