Ok the single breath rule was introduced when there were no clocks .. atleast a thousand years ago to restrict the raiders time .. if he runs out of his breath he needs to retreat nowadays there are timers so the raider has 30 second to score but the ancient tradition of single breath has been passed down as part of the game.

This game teaches me not to afraid of any huge human being merely because of his big height or size. It gives you much more physical confidence. It's also good for girls to play & improve their physical capacity equal to boys.
@thehawkseye34123 жыл бұрын
Equal to boys is saying too much but yeah it's good as it removes the fear of being tackled and sharpens reaction time in such a situation. Good for self confidence in one's own ability to deal with it. Those tactics helped me run away from a difficult situation of violent threat by a guy. He was caught by surprise while I reacted without thinking getting free of the hold. I gained enough time to rush in more crowded area to get help.

7:46 Yes, that also constitutes as a point, which is why defenders are usually hesitant to try and tackle the raider if he is close to the mid line. It usually happens in untrained teams that when the raider is retreating after scoring a point, some defenders think they'll be able to tackle him if they all work together while the remaining defenders think they won't be able to tackle the raider at all and so they avoid touching him. All this happens in a split second and for an untrained team, it means every defender acts alone and not as a team, leading to a weak defence overall.

Believe it or not, but it actually stems from the time when humans were primarily hunter-gatherers, when they would hunt a prey (eg a Boar) in groups - Raider being the boar with the defender's being the human hunters. Kabaddi is an ancient sport

It’s single breath but it’s not banned to do normal breathing but you have to say “kabaddi” or “Hutu tu….” or any word as every state has its version. Once you stop saying word it’s assumed that you have lost your breath or you have been effectively tackled. I had only played traditional one. But it’s far simple than it looks at first sight.
