It's a brilliant piece of comedy which still holds up today, it's a parody on old "Public Information Films" and satirizes the patriarchal and sexist society that was the norm in the 1950's and before. I would hope it wouldn't get cancelled as any half intelligent person would understand what it was trying to do. Harry Enfield (and Paul Whitehouse) are comic geniuses.

I've been patiently waiting for this one! I was about 12/13 when this originally aired and I couldn't stop laughing! I definitely recommend ANY sketch of Kevin and Perry, which is Harry Enfield, and it's about a kid who turns into a typical demon as soon as he turns into his teenage years. I'll have to watch this again, I don't think I've ever seen you laugh so hard 😂😂

There's another sketch like this he did about women drivers that you should check out. I always enjoyed these 1930's/1940's Public Information Film sketches Harry and Paul did. They were always mocking social attitudes of the time and making predictions that we all know turned out to be wrong.

This is a brilliant sketch and I have admiration for the people who put it together. On a serioius note I think it reflects past times when women did not engage in 'larger' conversations, primarily because they were always in the home doing the domestic stuff and looking after the children. It is only when radio, then telvision and now the the internet gave people much easier access to information in the outside world. It was not only women who became more aware of the outside world, but men too.

Harry Enfield had the guys that wrote "The Fast Show" after this writing most of his sketches, starring in them, Paul Whitehouse plays sidekick but is actuall a comic geniius Charlie Higson etc ... Love Kevin the Teenager..... the Car wash one is so accurate, lots though (see Kevin and Perry go large)

I disagree that it would be cancelled today, to be honest. The target of the joke isn't the women, it's the out-dated attitude towards women. I suppose these days the only issue with it is all those Daily Express readers and Andrew Tate worshippers who *actually* think like this, who would probably view it as an *actual* public information film.

It's a good thing you have spent some time in te UK before watching this one. You understood it's an ironic bit of comedy, which is something many Americans would not understand without experiencing English humour. Unfortunately Britain has begun to embrace the American style of being permanently offended so you are right that this couldn't be made now.

I was 15 in the UK when this came out, it was one of the most popular comedy shows. I ended up owning two copies and my English teacher loved it, so I gave him my spare VHS. Oh how times have changed, its a good job I haven't lol.
