BTW, Bohemian Rhapsody, releases in the early 70's, is about Freddie Mercury's "coming out". He was one of a kind that is terribly missed 30 years after his passing. This recording is now attributed to be the first-ever music video. Prior to this there were films of concerts. This vid was the first structure the presentation of a song that had it's own visually artistic qualities. It also broke all the rules of Pop songs in it's structure and length. 50 years on it continues to be brilliant no matter how many times you hear it.

My first exposure to this piece was that sort of experience for me. I was crossing the living room and broke my stride mid-step because of both the sound and the unique video. I hadn't seen anything like it before. And I stood and watched to the end and knew that something important had happened in music.

I remember when this was released in1976 and although it may look a little dated to young eyes it was ground breaking at the time. Music videos were also in their infancy, so we had never seen anything like this. Songs usually lasted a couple of minutes in those days, so this running as long as it did with the numerous changes in tempo and style of singing was outstanding. It stayed at number one for about 6 weeks. It really put Queen on the map.

I first heard this in 1975. I was 14. My friend Miles bought it on vinyl. We listened to it in his bedroom with our coats on. There was no heating or double glazing. We affectionately called his bedroom the icebox. Bohemian Rhapsody blew our minds.

Freddie lived with Roger and they ran a market stall before Queen. Roger said he and Brian were giving up but Freddie encouraged them to start again with him but with his vision of the band. Roger and Brian released solos before Freddie Freddie did his solo between working with Queen They finished their world tour for the works 2 months before live aid..

Yeah, it was well known Freddie asked Rodger to sing "that bit" and each time said "no; higher" until Rodger was, in his words, "taking the piss"... then Freddie said "That's it". ... Amazing...

This video, from 1975, as is the song, was the first pop video ever shown on British TV, and the reason was that Queen were on tour in Japan at the time of recording Top Of The Pops, so they needed something for the show. Christmas No.1 in 1975 and lasted at the top for 9 weeks. Also it was re-released in 1991 when Freddie Mercury died, and was Christmas No.1 again. Nobody could EVER dislike this song 😀

The singer, did the harmony himself, in layers, Freddy Mercury, is the writer, blender of 3 very different songs, is the piano player, costume designer, opera and rock lover, so he wrote this - the first "Rock Opera." The lead guitarist, Brian May, plays the guitar he built, at home with his dad. All 4 band members finished uni and had careers outside of music as well as winning all the music awards for years. This song is longer than radio stations wanted to play, Freddie wouldn't budge. Can you imagine this on your car radio, when you had no idea what was coming next?

In 1975 the only technology readily available was the multiple track tape recorder. Queen put this together by layering and splicing segments from different tracks. No computers, no autotune, just pure talent, hard work and genius. This technique followed from pioneering work of Delia Derbyshire in the 1960s with the BBC Radiophonics Workshop. Delia created music by physically cutting up tape and changing speed, hence pitch. The Dr. Who theme is her work.

Amazing to watch your reaction, believe me when I say, when this first came out in the 70's everyone was reacting just like that. hi Joel, I found your channel a few weeks ago and I love it, I am watching all the videos I can. I now that I am older, still Queen is one of my favorites, Freddie will always be in my heart, when they announced his passing, I was a teenager, I was in shock, it couldn't be possible, I cried. This song was written in 1975, on the album "A Night at the Opera", the guitar solo by Bian May is absolutely awesome. As for the meaning of the song, many say that the lyrics refer to Scaramouche, the fandango from Act III of Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, but I think Freddie was talking about his intimate and personal life. 💙

Yes this is one of the most iconic songs ever, you must watch more Queen on you tube,, I suggested you watch this a while ago and I bet there were more too, please watch Freddie Mercury and Monsterrat Caballe singing Barcelona, also watch more of Queen, you will love them, also there is a biopic film out a couple of years ago on Freddie Mercury you may enjoy.

This is one of the best, cutest reactions to Bohemian Rhapsody I have ever seen online! I first hear A Night at the Opera at a friends house around 1974 or 75. I was hooked and went out and bought the album the next day! I’ve been a Queen and Freddie fan forever!

Many consider Queen was the greatest rock band of all time. I concur. Their performance at the Live Aid concert at Wembley Stadium is testimony to that belief and will remain forever in the annals of rock music history. Lead man Freddie Mercury had the god-given combo of being a brilliant musician, composer, and being blessed with one of the finest voices in rock music history.

JPS thank you so much for the Queen reaction they began there music in the 1970s and ended it in the 1990s when the legend singer Freddie Mercury died of aids on the 24 November 1991. They were very famous in Britain and still are. Freddie Mercury was born in Zanzibar and his parents were Indian they moved to England when Freddie was 17 and made his music hit the carts all over the world Most of the song were written buy Freddie who was born of the name Farrokh Bulsara. In 2018 they even made a movie called Bohomian Rhapsody it’s amazining. And the band Queen also did live aid for the African poverty to raise money you can react to it on KZbin aswell if you like

I'm guessing you might have heard We Are The Champions and We Will Rock You at sporting events. You probably have heard alot of Queen songs without realising who they are. They are probably one of the best bands ever and Freddy had an amazing voice. You should probably watch Wayne's World, as they kind of sing along to it in an epic way. It was made in the late 70s and a little controversial. If you ever watch the Queen film you will realise how hard it was to get it released.

A musical masterpiece. This song will be rocking people in another 30 years when a lot of us will be gone. Very few musicians have that kind of ability. Even after all these years Freddie Mercury's voice is still fresh. He also had three very talented band mates. RIP Freddie Mercury.

Hi, this was written by Freddie and first released in 1975. I think but am not sure, it was the first video of it's type to ever be released too. Thanks for sharing, I was 9 years old when this was released and is still as wonderful now as it was the first time I heard it.

Oh man, so many good memories of this song. Everyone knows the words, everyone sings at the top of their voice, and everyone rocks out when the guitars kick in. Jumping around and singing to Queen in a pub/club was always and will always be an epic experience.

'Bohemian Rhapsody' must be part of American culture these days after being used in the 1992 'Wayne's World' movie. It had an unforgettable scene of the guys singing along to it on the car radio on their ride through the night-time suburban streets in an old 1976 AMC Pacer.

Hi Joel, i'd highly recommend watching Freddie Mercury performing with Montserrat Caballé singing "Barcelona". It's something a bit different as Montserrat was an accomplished Opera singer, regarded as having one of the finest voices of any generation. I'd love to see your reaction to it! I remember delivering a 40' container to a wholesalers in Manchester, when this came on my cab radio. I was mesmerised and although there were several increasingly angry men waiting to unload my vehicle, I sat transfixed with the doors locked till the song ended. To experience a hair tingling moment you should watch the film of the audience singing along to this song at the Green Day concert at Hyde Park London 2017. The most amazing band ever .... and this song, this beautiful piece of music, is in a league of its own. All four members have attended universities: Freddie had a degree in graphic design and illustration; Brian May has a degree in physics and has done graduate work in astronomy; Roger Taylor has a degree in biology; John Deacon earned a degree in electronics with first-class honours. Brian May's degrees include a BSc (Hons) and a PhD in Astrophysics. He was Chancellor of Liverpool John Moores University from 2008 to 2013 and a 'science team collaborator' with NASA's Pluto mission. Asteroid 52665 Brianmay was named after him. May is also an animal rights activist, and and expert in stereo vision, both historically and scientifically. He was appointed CBE in 2005 for "services to the music industry and for charity work.

It was first released in 1975, at because it was so long couldn't get air play, but 1 DJ called Kenny Everett played it non stop, the song went to no 1 whilst Queen were on tour and they made the first video to be played on "top of the pops " they were trail Blazers in music and Freddie Mercury was a Rock God watch more music of his to see why 😀
