Ronaldinho's prime (2002-2008) was just ABSURD. It's very hard to describe. Every PSG/Barcelona/Milan match at that time was like a circus stage for him. It was like "What kind of magic he's gonna do today?". Especially for Barcelona (2004-2007) it was insanely good. So fun to watch. And Messi's first goal for Barcelona happened after a brilliant Ronaldinho's assist. Neymar playing for Santos (2010-2013) was almost like that technically speaking but with a bad energy, a lot of fake dives, cocky moments, bad attittude, etc. Ronaldinho's playing was just joy and happiness without disrespect, just magic skills and fun. Just look at his face smiling all the time while playing.

Nike hired him to do a commercial for a million dollars in which he had to shoot a soccer ball into a basketball hoop. I'm 48 years old. Grew up watching many many great players (and still watching). My favorite player of all time is Ronaldinho! Being honest, I could concede that perhaps he is not the greatest player of all time. However, I would stand my ground that he is without a doubt the most exciting player of all-time. He was a pioneer in a new style of soccer. It seemed that he did something amazing, jaw-dropping, and new every single game. He may not have invented some of the moves/tricks he displayed, but he "turned them up to 11." The "Elastico" move in particular, the way he executed it, was absolutely lethal. The first time I saw him do that, I was like, "What just happened?!" (Rewound the VHS tape after the game was over). Above all else, he absolutely loved the game. Always smiling and just as happy as could be. Very few non-Real Madrid players have received a standing ovation while playing at Real Madrid. Ronaldinho is one of them.

He uses his both legs equally efficient making the defender hopeless against him. He is a magician an artist. God of kicking, free kicking, dribling, passing, controling the ball (you must check how he controls some difficult balls), scoring, faking, he puts fear in the defender. The defender will never know if he will pass or go thru or kick the ball. There are great legends in soccer, but no one was as good as Ronaldinho. He was as complete as you can imagine the perfect soccer player should be. He had a lot of control of the ball, he was strong, he was fast, very quick on his feet to decide which play to go for, knew how to kick, how to pass the ball, how to steal the ball from his adversaries, how to create unusual favorable situations for his teams, how to demoralize his adversaries just by playing his natural self, he always prefered to continue the play instead of askings the judge for a fault. And he did all that with a smile on his face. Most legends are outstanding at one, two, three of those aspects, but he was really complete, he had it all. You can watch as many videos as you want about him, and I can garantee you that it won't be a waste of time. =)

I've been watching football since i was 5 and i played when i was younger, i'm 28 and i've never seen a player more skilled than Ronaldinho, the things he did with the ball were amazing, i can't compare him with Messi or Ronaldo because those two had a peak that lasted 12-15 years and Ronaldinho's peak were 2 years of the 3 years that was in Barça, he did nice things before and after but not in every match. Ronaldinho of Brazil was an exceptional player, nicknamed 'Wizard'... he and Ronaldo (Nazario) won the 2002 World Cup (Brazil's 5th title) as well as Copa America in 1999... However, he only played 2 World Cup tournaments - 2002 and 2006. His career for Barcelona in Spain (2003 - '08) gave him 2 La Liga titles and 1 Champions League title... and he was partnered in Barcelona w/ a young Lionel Messi... He joined Italy's AC Milan and won 1 Serie A title... but his career waned after 1 decade. Ronaldinho went back to Brazil in 2011 and played for teams there until he retired in 2015.
