what is cool is, you may notice, during the "big singing bit" the conductor turns to the audience and conducts them, because during this particular performance the audience participation is the key. That's nice, and cool :) No one does this shit like the British haha. Nice one bro.

The Proms isn’t limited to classical music. They have done lots of popular music theme nights. There was one honouring composer John Williams who wrote the score for the Indiana Jones films, Star Wars, Superman, Jurassic Park and Harry Potter. I grew up doing theatre and loved the Proms’ tributes to musicals.

Just loved this Rule Britannia with the splendid Sarah Conolly in uniform. It's brilliant to see flags from other nations too, obviously it's not just Brits who love the Last Night. Just love the Proms. 😊 from Ireland

A patriotic extravagaza of an occasion where the flags of all friendly Countries are welcome. Only here in th U.K, this makes me proud to be a citizen.

That's when the British show their patriotism. Rule Britannia, Jerusalem etc 2009 was our best but we still hold the Proms and the last night is when the public get to sing. It's a 6 to 8 week classic music festival over the summer in the UK. Opera singer without microphone. Singing live happens every year at The Royal Albert Hall. And, at the end of Summer. After 6 to 8 weeks. On the last Night of The Proms the public get to join in and sing.

The singer is an opera singer who specializes in “pants” roles. roles which women play characters who are male. I have seen this performance which included her entrance rather funny, making fun of admirals.

When Britain first, at Heaven's command Arose from out the azure main, Arose, arose from out the azure main; This was the charter, the charter of the land, And guardian angels sung this strain: "Rule, Britannia! Britannia rule the waves: "Britons never never never will be slaves." "Rule, Britannia! Britannia rule the waves: "Britons never never never will be slaves." The nations, not so blest as thee, Must, in their turns, to tyrants fall, Must, in their tu~urns, to tyrants fall; While thou shalt flourish, shalt flourish great and free, The dread and envy of them all. "Rule, Britannia! Britannia rule the waves: "Britons never never never will be slaves." "Rule, Britannia! Britannia rule the waves: "Britons never never never will be slaves." Still more majestic shalt thou rise, More dreadful, from each foreign stroke, More dreadful, dreadful from each foreign stroke; As the loud blast, the blast that tears the skies, Serves but to root thy native oak. "Rule, Britannia! Britannia rule the waves: "Britons never never never will be slaves." "Rule, Britannia! Britannia rule the waves: "Britons never never never will be slaves."
