@@to_loww I apologise for my comments. Yes, I missed the point and was a little offended too that someone would mention Silesia as something other than Germany because of my ancestry and self-image as a German, as I have been asked about it all my life due to my surname. Because of my (Lower) Silesian grandparents (in the same age group as Janosch, maybe a bit older), who identified themselves as both Silesian and German, I assumed that Janosch felt the same way (although he was from Upper Silesia). Now I've read some interviews and realised that he sees himself more as a Silesian from Poland than from Germany.

Despite the House made in the 1800 (or early 1900 i don't know, had 3 extensions over the years) and relatively good isolated in comparison to other old houses, i open my windows 24/7... because regardless of the Isolation, i doubt that you will be Sitting in the second floor or even Top Floor in a 21° Room. It will be heating up. If it is around 33 to 34°C out there, you can say that 27-28° are normal in your room at that point. Stale, none moving air on top.
@hannesgroesslinger
@hannesgroesslinger Ай бұрын
@@NeverMind439 of course 28° are normal for you, because you are doing it wrong. The correct way is: keep the windows open during the night so that the inside of the building cools down. Close them in the morning, to keep the heat out. If the air inside does go stale and you absolutely need "fresh" air inside you do "Stoßlüften": you open all the windows for a couple of minutes, to quickly exchange all the air, while having minimal heat transfer. You will get hot air into your room, but since walls, floors, furniture, etc. are still cool, the air will cool down as soon as you close the windows again. Over the course of the day the room will still slowly warm up, and you won't keep your room at 21° for the whole day, especially if temperatures during the night are rather warm as well. But in my living room it has only gotten warmer than 24° on 2 days this summer, and my building is from 1890 as well.
@NeverMind439

@@hannesgroesslinger I am German so i tried all that. But nothing really fit. The Nights weren't as cold enough as i hoped to really cool anything down most of the time and after closing the Windows, the room went up with every hour it got warmer outside. It is MUCH cooler to have the Window open 24 hours than closing it for a single second because you literally feel the temperatur rising instantly and sweating like you are the chicken that gets grilled in a oven 😀 Sadly, i had to say "good bye" to my ventilator as well after literally going up in smoke and flames. My Room reached about Temepratures of about 30-31°. I HATE Top Floor Apartements but they are often the cheapest, mostly because of the summer heat 😀

4:55 it's a reference to how in the US you associate blue with left, and red with right, but the rest of the world is the opposite, because red was the colour of socialism from the beginnings in the 19th century, the US only adopted their colour association a few decades ago because a TV station began using red for republicans and blue for democrats. It can cause confusion, and isn't helped by the US not even having a left wing, but only 2 right wing parties, and the most extreme right is the one with the red.

A good pizza dough takes about five days: Very very little yeast, long and cold fermentation, the lot of it in the fridge. Very little work though you don't even need to knead it. I use spelt 630 flour (the cheap wheat/spelt cross you get in every other supermarket), somewhere between 60 and 70% hydration depends on whether you want to form the pizza while the dough is cold or room temperature. Standard 2% salt or a bit less, bit of olive oil. Never roll the dough, just take off a portion and, if you can't do the proper technique, let it stretch under its own weight. Be mindful of moisture when topping cheese likes to trap it, don't be afraid of oven lining, and bake at infernal temperatures (unless you live in a forge, as high as your oven goes) for a couple of minutes. Pre-heat, incl. tray, is absolutely mandatory. Cutting board work just fine to transfer the pizza+lining onto the tray, you can try semolina but that's one more possible failure point without any upside to it. I recommend making the sauce when you make the dough as anything tomato benefits from getting cooled down and reheated: Tomato paste (the good stuff), garlic, ginger, salt, maybe some sugar for balance. No herbs those come later depending on toppings. Using paste from the get-go means you don't need to reduce for ages to get a dry sauce which is good because as said moisture is an issue with pizzas, you want taste on there, not water, especially with thin crust pizza and yes this is going to be *very* thin crust. Now you'll occasionally hear Italians, yes, Italians, even master pizza bakers, say that nothing happens when you give dough time, that it's all pointless, and I'd just like to point to the utter absence of any kind of UNESCO world heritage recognition for Italian bread. When it comes to dough, ask the Germans.

The Midwest US equivalent would be a lot less green and more prairie grasses, low shrubs and milkweeds. You would need to do some research to find the correct native plants for your area. And you need to not have a HOA, because they would immediately veto any sort of low-maintenance garden - a HOA-compliant lawn must prove that you can afford to hire a gardener, or at least have the kind of white collar job where you can do physical labor in your free time.

Due to the solid walls, houses are often cooler inside during summer in Germany, even without an AC. That´s why many Germans keep the windows shut during the day and open them over night. (The smoke rised up and now the whole flat smelled of the neighbors smoke)

Dont use a Pizzastone get a Pizzasteel for your home oven instead. It heats up much faster aswell as it provides a better crust underneath.

1:20 The person on the top left is, as you stated correctly, Peter Lustig from Löwenzahn (Dandelion). The one below is Ralph Caspers who at one time also hosted a kids science show (Wissen macht Ah!, Knowledge goes Ah!) and then switched to the show Quarks & Co where he does the same for a grown-up audience. On the bottom is Harald Lesch. He's an astrophysicist and co-hosts Terra X and his own show Lesch's Kosmos. On the right side we have top to bottom: Actor and comedian Oliver Pocher. He's known for ridiculing and openly mocking people. Comedian Mario Barth whose jokes are mostly about the differences between men and women, where in his stories women are the stupid, illogical ones most of the time. He's known for his "You know that, know that?" catchphrase and laughing the loudest about his own jokes. Comedian Dieter Nuhr. He hosts a comedy show where he often says very controversial things. All three said stupid things about climate change and Covid. So on the left we have informative, wholesome persons who introduce an interested audience to the world of science and are actively campaigning for a better future and on the right we got trash-talking, more or less ignorant and maybe a bit too narcisstic cavemen.

Hey, I don't know if this has been suggested to you before, but we used to have the program Zapping on the pay TV provider Premiere (now Sky), which always showed the best TV bloopers from German TV. Perhaps the automated subtitles also works. That's often very funny too. ^^ Unfortunately, the KZbin channel no longer exists directly. But there are videos from Premiere Zapping later also under the name, Sky Zapping

The stone garden is forbidden in some regions of germany because there can live no bees and other insects. It seems, bees are vulnerable in some regions of germany so the ppl have to build wild gardens that the bees stay there and find food.
@gadnuk666
@gadnuk666 28 күн бұрын
The ‘endangerment of bees’ is often misunderstood. Only wild bees are really endangered and not the turbo honey producers that every hobby beekeeper owns these days. Wild bees are extremely dependent on natural vegetation and are also being displaced by ‘commercial bees’.

Oliver Pocher is really the worst. Mario Barth is harmless, he is just not funny anymore. It is getting old. Nuhr is the smartes of them I think. he is very sarcastic and he made good things. he took the wrong turn in the last years. But his best quot is universal. 10:40 sorry to tell you but stone gardens are the opposite of environment friendly. They provide no space for the native fauna and flora to exist and produce oxygen, neither do they allow the ground filtration of rainwater through soil or the seepage into groundwater. Additionally the heat isle effect of citys and suburbs is enforced by such gardens
